I did it. Cold turkey about 16 years ago. I’ll have some green tea or regular tea. I drink decaf coffee. I can’t drink regular coffee anymore. It instantly gives me a headache.

No and there is no reason to.

Unless it’s affecting sleep or causing anxiety issues you really have no reason to quit

Week long camp back in early highschool only had water to drink. Killed my taste for soft drinks. Never even tried to like coffee.

I quit cold turkey once.

I'm already a bit of a depressive person, but the lack of will to live I felt after quitting caffeine was unbearable. I never understood true depression until that point. I was irritable and anxious, I had headaches, and I was foggy. But I really can't explain the depression I felt.

I jumped back on and then a few months later tried to wean off. Got off of it for 3-4 months, had a cup one morning and finished all my schoolwork for a week in advance of due dates and realized that I was hooked for the long haul.

It affects everyone differently.

Yes. Sucks for a few days then it’s fine

I was hypersensitive and had withdrawal migraines and I wasn’t even a big consumer

I’ve used 500mg capsules of DL-phenylalanine (an amino acid) for immediate, no real withdrawals. Though I recommend tapering down to one cup first, then take the jump to see how you body reacts. Take one 500mg for every cup you usually would have.

The habit of drinking something warm in the morning is a fierce beast.

Caffeine is like creatine, it has really been researched into the ground. Most studies say 3-7 mg of caffeine to kg of bodyweight is perfectly fine for daily intake

Yep. Sucks arse.

I just try to regulate it now. If I get too much I sleep like shite.

I had to for medical reasons. It does suck. The rebound headaches are the worst.

But I haven’t had caffeine for almost a year and a half now. I’d probably taste colors if I consumed enough of it now.
