You don’t get my reasoning at all bc you think a private business can just go make its own Twitter and that nobody is coming to take your guns away. And bc Democrats think they’re ok- it’s just the “others” and the unwashed who have to worry about massive tech companies imposing their belief systems on their “customers”.

You’ve described my current email / calendar / Quickbooks situation

What caused my meltdown is that other “cloud” subscription software has rapidly stopped accommodation of MS outlook without the 360.

It is a monumental pain in the arse.

This subscription model is fricking highway robbery. I don’t need to have my software “upgraded” every week. frick that. Plus. I just do not trust storing my own thoughts and mental impressions in a place where the government may or may not periodically access it without my knowledge from time to time. And no way that shite isn’t happening bc BOFA just decided to search all its customers to figure out who went to Washington DC on January 6.

I further refuse to lease a cell phone. So I just buy one outright so I don’t have to turn it back in. They just keep jacking up the prices on the stupid things so that I guess eventually it will be cost prohibitive- but I’m not there yet.

I just do not trust Big Tech. At all. frick them. The leftists have outsourced their tyranny to them.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. . . The only thing Orwell didn’t predict - was that Big Brother would take over without force.

More power to ya I guess, but in my industry that would be suicidal.

SAaS is here to stay. Companies started realizing 10-12 years ago that recurring revenue streams were more predictable with service model subscriptions.

It’s also much more cost effective from the subscribers standpoint along with much easier to manage. I recently migrated on-site servers to Microsoft AZUre. I can spin up a new server in 20 minutes for $150 per month.

Do you believe that avoiding subscription, cloud-based software and smartphone leases will keep big brother from digging into your thoughts and mental impressions and tracking your location on any given day?

If you boycott every business that disagrees with your political leanings then you wouldn’t be able to be in business.

Yet here you are posting in the cloud on a server hosted in AWS.

No. I do not.

But I don’t want to give them any more access than they already have.

It’s why I will vote in the next election. At least if these assholes want to pick the winner - they have to go thru the trouble of changing it.
