Look into homes in Indian Ridge rather than stay on property.

It's a $15 uber ride to the parks or 5 minute drive to property.

I was just helping a friend book a last minute June trip. The price difference between a week at Art of Animation or a house with 4 bedrooms (6 beds, 3 bath) pool, jacuzzi and game room was 1500 cheaper. So for $1500 less you can have an entire house. A private pool and a kitchen. Or you can have a motel room with two beds and a microwave.
I get the perks of on property but Covid has made the bus system even more miserable.

Indian Ridge. Is the area of Kissimee to look. It's right off Irlo Bronson.
7 nights is about $1200

I was shocked to see the prices still low for summer.
It's hard to go back to hotels after Airbnb

I wont return to Disney until all Covid restrictions have been removed and FastPass+ returns. With that said, in my opinion the perks and especially the atmosphere of staying on property are part of the Disney experience and are worth $1,500.

I agree that 1500 bucks is worth it to stay on property with younger kids personally. That is excluding the All-Star hotels though, they don't do much for me.

If older kids or adults trip, yea stay in the house.

I enjoy my nightly walks along the boardwalk and through epcot too much to stay off property. In fact, I no longer stay outside of the epcot resorts for that reason alone.

Rental houses are ridiculously cheap there. A few years ago, we rented a 4 bedroom with pool for around $700/week.

I would go with the house. The basic Disney resorts don’t offer that much more in the way of the Disney experience in my opinion. Not to mention you’ve got a washer and dryer in the house instead of hauling laundry to a community facility on property at one of the base resorts. That’s a big deal to me.

I find I spend so little time at the resort. The only time it felt like a benefit was staying at the Contemporary.

But with family suites being 480 a night right now that's damn near a deluxe.
I HATE the busses and will drive to the parks even when I stay on property. Adding five minutes to that drive is with savings I could spend on Edgecomb the trip with a beach stop or a Tampa stop.

This person has two kids a 5 year old and a 14 year old. I figured with the teen having more than two beds would be better.

Our kids loved having a pool they could swim in any time and the game room

I'm saying it's $1500 less than a value. If you book moderates or deluxe you're not looking to save anyway.
But if you're looking into value resorts, do yourself a favor and stay off property OR look into Bonnet Creek.

I've never stayed in a boardwalk resort. Me and the wife are going without the kids next November and staying at the Beach club.

Beach club.

Better pool but more kids. Beach, Yacht and BW are in the best location. You can walk or ferry to both Epcot and Hollywood. When Epcot closes you can head to Abracadabar and have drinks on the boardwalk.

I don't think staying on Disney properties is worth it during normal times. It's absolutely not worth it during Covid restrictions though.

We were there in March & stayed in a nearby Marriott vacation club resort.

Just a heads up. Dont make the mistake and think

"We want to get to Hollywood studios at rope drop....lets ride the sky liner over there!"

Seems like a great idea. And there was no line at the EPCOT end. But Caribbean Beach transfer station. Wow we waited for like 45 minutes there.

Skyliner is awesome and i really enjoyed it. But dont try it early AM if trying to get there fast.

From any of the epcot resorts the best way to get to hollywood studios is just to walk

Even if you're on the skyliner and want to be in the front of the rope drop crowd, you're better off taking an Uber to the speedway near the boardwalk and walking over from there.

Make sure reservations in the parks are even still available for the dates you want.

Looks like slim pickins

Don’t forget you also should be black when you go back to get the ultimate pass.

My wife and I will be in Orlando in July so decided to go the 7th and 8th. Place is selling out fast. Hollywood Studios was full on the 7th already. What is the capacity at? Anyone know?

Right now, 35%

Solid chance it goes to 50% by July if they can get enough shows up and running to swallow some of the people.
