With JBE's appointees controlling the BOS, I've always thought his Commissioner of Administration was favored to become the next LSU President, that is until Emmert's name has now surfaced. If Emmert wants the job again, I'm sure a deal will get done. If he prefers to stay with the NCAA, then I think it will be Dardenne.

UPDATE: List of Candidates is released and Emmert's name isn't on it. DARDENNE the odds on favorite to now become LSU President.

I like Jay, but why in the world would he be considered to lead a University?

He wants the job and has a governor friend that can make it happen.

Highest three years of salary to calculate state retirement benefit.

Do the math.

Can't say that I blame him.

It was always going to be Jay Dardenne.

That’s why Jay give JBE his endorsement which elected him Governor, he was promised the LSU presidency.

Stephen Moret should be a top candidate.

LSU ME grad, MS-Harvard, PhD-Penn.

Seems to check all the boxes.

Have you seen the shite show Emmett has run as head of the NCAA. Don’t want him near LSU again.

The last person Lipsey wants for the job is Jay Dardenne. Jay is looking for another state pension cushion.

Why would anyone want a guy responsible for the crap show we have for governor to now run LSU?? I personally will never forgive Dardenne for that.

Mark Emmert is the single person most responsible for LSU being the second best college football program in America since 2000. He cut through all the good ole boy bs and forced LSU to spend the money on Saban. Hell, he MIGHT have even had the balls to force the rehire of Saban when he wanted back at LSU, and gotten Miles' dumb arse out. Then how many natty's would we have?

Had he not been here, we'd still be floundering around in the archer/curley/dinardo days, which ran the gamut from embarrassing to teasing us with a good team, then bombing out royally. If he wants back in, hire him.

I'm hoping that a rhetorical question... But the answer is "politics", plain and simple
