1. Our dbs look confident and really challenge passes. There were no blown routes and the qb's had to force the ball into tight windows. There were a LOT of passes that were touched by the defense.
2. Our d-line is deep and very good. They looked physical and fast.
3. Damone Clark still cannot play LB. Jared Small looked like our best linebacker to me, all day. I think he had 15 tackles.
4. O-line is still pretty questionable, and we have no depth. It doesn't look like Kardell Thomas will ever be able to play. He's so fat and lazy, it's unbelievable.
5. WR- obviously Boutte is the man. We all know that. But I thought that Kirklin and Moore looked really good. Hopefully, another summer of 10,000 catches will have us back to 2019 form.
6. QB- I cannot decide between Max and Myles. It's a close race. Finley is definitely 4th and I'll be shocked if he doesn't transfer this summer.

I look forward to seeing our RBs being healthy in the fall. It wasn't much fun without a running game at all.

We have a long way to go, but, hopefully, they find a LB before we play UCLA. I don't know what in the world they see in Damone Clark, but he's just not the guy.

The weather today will probably be cooler than most games during the season

I feel like the OL did great. No help because we were in empty majority of the game, and they went up against an elite DL. It's not like our QBs had to throw the ball too fast. And for the most part they did well in the running game as well

OL with all the starters back and experience then no back ups pushing - what a disappointment again. How does the OL coach still have a job again?
Only 1 standout WR and weak TE- like WTF happened there. Was recruiting that bad on evaluating talent and then no player development?
Team may have some big holes.
Only spring but could easily see 3-4 losses next fall.

Agree. He’s wasting his potential here. He could be a starter somewhere else. Not sure where right now but there’s gotta be someone that could use him.

Bug Strong and the Clemson lb didn’t play. White and Sampah looked better than Clark. Lb will be okay.

Jared Small

Idk anything about him. Is he a walk on or something?

I would agree with you though I was very impressed and he was our best LB today.

First of all I didn't watch last year's spring game. But from the spring games before I really liked how it was more of a "game" with 4 downs and not just keeping one unit on the field. And they didn't have that goal line crap. It felt more like a real game than any other I have seen at LSU.

That first Boutte touchdown was obviously a blown coverage as there was no one within 10 yards of him.

Not to mention that last touchdown pass to end the game by Nuss was also another blown coverage.

Id give the nod to Max due to his wheels. Hopefully the starting O-Line looks better when they are all lining up for the same “team” at the same time...

Wouldn’t be pissed if it’s Myles though.

TJ is #3 at this point and Nuss probably isn’t much of a consideration in the race. He needs to sit a year considering who we have ahead of him

If that's the case, you go with the guy who will be here in 22 and 23.

Only stayed for the first half:
-Oline pass protection looked good to me. Coverage must have been good because QBs only seemed to get pressured when they had to scramble out of the pocket to create more time.
-Run blocking wasn't all that bad. TDP looking like a clear #1.
-Defensive tackling seems improved.
-McGlothern looks like he's improving and made good plays in coverage.
-Kirklin had a lot of success getting under the coverage. Looks to be a solid possession receiver.
-Maason Smith got some good pushes when he wasn't double teamed. Got brought in with Zavier Carter on 3rd downs.
-QB#1 v. #2 is anyone's guess right now.
