13 years old out at 2:30am, carrying a gun in an area where shots were just fired from, and running from the police.

Fk that kid.

Cop did society a favor and should get a damn medal.

That is so white supremacist of you to introduce facts that negate the story the news media tried to sell.

Well the kid is dead, so what do you expect him to learn from this?

It’s really shitty that this is how the kid decided to seemingly comply, but the officer is going to learn that no matter what, if he shoots a suspect turning towards him with a gun in his hand, that little self proclaimed intelligent pieces of shite like you will always be sitting here questioning his... grammar - “well actually he did say to show him his hands, so uh, he basically gave him a death sentence, huh huh *takes a sip of semen*”

“Run another block while I explain. Show me your hands but don’t attempt to be slick and grab gun and spin move towards me while releasing gun out of my vision behind a fence and face me in less then a second because I’m going to shoot you, ok”

The most frustrating thing about stupid people is that they will never know it :/

Heard on the news this morning the kid had a gun and dropped it as he was turning around.

It was 2:30 in the dark, and apparently the cop knew he had a gun.

Justifiable self defense to me. When will people learn not to run from the cops. Does anyone expect the cop to wait and see if he gets shot first?

The cop has the gun pointed at the kid - this means he’s still in an advantageous position even if the kid has a gun because it’s clearly not pointed at the cop
Yeh, and he used that advantage

If he chooses to not shoot when the kid turns on him with the gun in his hand, he gives up that advantage to “wait and see if the kid shoots him first”

That would be absolutely idiotic and not even a highly trained special forces op would be dumb enough, or as y’all think “brave enough”, to do that

quote:

So even if the kid turned with the gun pointed upward (which he didn’t; he had ditched it), there’s still no need to shoot
This is the most head in the clouds idiotic fricking thing I have ever heard. You are literally now saying even if a criminal points a gun at a cop the cop shouldn’t shoot.

This has to be coming straight from watching movies and stuff right? That’s all I can think of. Where everyone stand there pointing guns at one another and having a conversation

Yep

That’s why I said head in the clouds. The guy actually said cops should let criminals point guns at them

there was a gun found on the scene but i believe he dropped it. you can clearly see he didn’t have anything in his hands when he put his arms up and got lit up
He took out the gun and tossed it right as he was turning around. The cop saw him take out the gun but didn’t see him drop it.

The cop should have waited to see if the kid was going to shoot it first. Good chance the kid would have shot and missed. Zero reason for the officer to not wait considering this

So yet again, the media CONTINUES to report out of context.

Wake up people! Media is the problem just as much as the undisciplined “innocent victims” they report on.

Kid may or may not have thrown the unloaded gun, can’t tell from video but he was clearly shot complying with commands, unarmed and hands up. A reasonable qualified police officer would not have shite this kid. Once you have a target in your sights it is over. This advantage bulllshit is part of the military training that has caused all this bulllshit. If I have my sights on you in a prone shooting position, no way in hell unless you are James Bourne are you getting a shot at me or any other minimal skilled gun owner. I guess I could freeze but i could put 6 in you before you could swing that gun towards me.

Now they are being taught they are not to risk their lives, they are more important than any suspect and when in doubt shot to kill not worth the risk. Either they are being prepared to be soldiers against something or something else.

The 13 year old kid looks white.
Why the concern over unrest?

A reasonable person would look at this and say, wow that's really unfortunate because we get to examine the video over and over in slow motion frame by frame and it seems like the kid was trying to surrender and didn't intend to shoot back - he sadly also added in a big fricking twist by having the gun in his hand that he was dropping/tossing while spinning to face the cop. The cop made a very reasonable decision to shoot first considering the position he was in and what he saw happening in a split second. Are you reasonable?

I like the innocent looking picture of the kid that CNN is showing.

It’s just a distraction from the Chauvin verdict. When that drops, cities (including Chicago) will burn.
