First topic was Jaden. Said he’s handling it well emotionally. He brought up Cedrick’s son and how his passing puts things into perspective.

They talked about possible replacements. When mentioning Money’s performance when Jaden left, PM said he wishes he hadn’t gone with the lefty who gave up 5 runs. That’s the second time he didn’t use Brady’s name and that he gave up 5.

Eventually, they tackled the 1-8 start. PM went after Cade Doughty and Beloso saying some players specifically them have let them down hitting. As a team he says he can’t hit for them so they have to find a way to come through.

I found a couple things interesting. PM is acting like he has no control yet he throws out 3 guys batting sub 0.170 and expects what? Then he goes after Cade as if he isn’t one of the bright spots. But his issue apparently specifically with Cade’s SEC stats where he only has a few RBIs in SEC play. Basically? Said besides the Leiter HR, he’s been useless. I find the hitting discussion enlightening because it’s been PM’s approach to go with the best defensive lineups at the expense of the bats. He spent back to back weeks defending those lineups.

What a fricking clown.

Yeah
when you insert Cranford and Milazzo that means Doughty and Beloso are not seeing pitches
Plus they don't have any real consistent leadoff or two hole hitter to get guys on base for the heart of the lineup
There is also no base stealing threats either which means double plays are perfectly lined up unless you give up outs

His act is so tired and he needs to do the right thing and resign at the end of the season and maybe he will still get his retirement jersey and statue one day

If not, next year will be more of the same with the same tired excuses we've heard the last couple of years plus he will destroy some committed player that leverages his position with the draft

Every time a person makes an excuse the validity declines. First excuse for a failure, ok ... maybe that's believable.
Second excuse ... questionable
Third .... laughable

CPM is on excuse #29 ... it's insanity at this point.

So... how do we get this whole cancel culture mob to turn and get rid of Maineri?

If Mainieri trots out a lineup (assuming DiGiacomo is playing) consisting of both Milazzo and Cranford and this team loses the Friday game due to lack of run support then I'm officially on the ready for a new coach train.

He is the one who hired another “volunteer” hitting coach that seems to have made no difference at all

Cade Doughty got out with a chance to tie/win game 3 vs Vandy. But other than that how has he been worse than anyone else in the lineup in SEC play?

Both he and Beloso got out with the bases loaded in one of the Vandy games. Can’t remember which ones. Doughty Kd and Beloso popped out.

In football when you know it’s going to be tough to score against an opponent, you have to game plan and figure out how to get points. In baseball you have to figure out how to score runs.

Sending out a lineup designed to play defense and settling for less offense insures a low score for your team.

Now there was no guarantee that putting better hitters in the lineup versus Vandy would have helped, but we all know it was going to result in an anemic offense with little punch.

Now the hitters do have to deliver, but the coaches have to put them in a position to succeed as a team. PM has not done that and he’s getting paid over a million dollars a year to do it.

Especially since he insists on pitching Marceaux on Friday. If Marceaux could pitch on Sunday and get >1 run of support, LSU may win a few. As it stands, Marceaux pitches a well and gets wasted because the Tigers can't hit the opposing Friday night starter.

Yes but with hitting being unreliable across the whole lineup wouldn’t you want to have the best defensive catcher in the game?

Free runs on balls that get away or bad throws on stolen bases are hard to overcome when you can’t rely on offense

I’m fine with Milazzo playing. It’s Cranford and Safford that have no business on the field since they can’t hit over 0.150.

He didn’t bring it up to protect himself. He brought up Cedrick’s son in regards to Hill’s injury and how it helped put the injury in perspective for Jaden since his cousin just died.

It was the 1st inning of game 2 against Leiter. I remember because I was called a queer for saying that in that instance it wasn’t coaching it was players needing to make plays.
