I’m not sure how you can make such a statement from that angle.
Go watch film from last year. MB has a better arm.
Good to see Max working on his deep ball.

Actually I'm assuming Johnson could convert a single 3rd down that day because of his mobility.
Could he have thrown 4 TDS? Or could he have gotten a defensive stop?
If he plays like he did against Florida, we lost by 8 instead of 4. Myles had a better game than Johnson had against anyone, but you for some reason think Johnson would have won.

Neat, if he had taken all first team reps that week and been the starter all game, it likely goes better. The defense had us in position to win that game and we did nothing on offense with Finley. And don't think for a second Jimbo wasn't trying to shut us out. They weren't playing prevent.
Why didn’t the offense move his first 3 drives in the game.
Tell me that. Why didn’t it move?
And the last drive was 18 plays. The only thing you can’t do up 20 with 5 to go to go is give up a. Quick score. We used up 4:30 minutes. Essentially ending the game.

You and that downvote button. What the equivalent in court for when you don't like when the opposing counsel is running circles around you?
Keep Crying about the downvote button
In the courtroom you need real facts. You’re entire argument is either factually incorrect or speculative.
Here are real facts.
1. Brennan had a better game against Missouri than Max had all season.
2. Max had 1 drive go more than 9 yards vs A&M and it basically ended the game.
3. Max never started against a scoring defense ranked higher than 74.
You’re argument isn’t based on anything Max did on the field.
Also, cry a little more about the downvote, bitch.

So you totally ignore the drive killing 3rd down stats that put or garbage defense back out on the field?

Adjustments can't be made?

Irrelevant. Jimbo wanted that shutout and only a dumbass would say otherwise.

I will always laugh at how fricking soft you are. Try not to get the thread locked again.

Brennans throw looks like its about 40 yards further than Maxs.
Check out the cones in both videos for reference, but both QNs were close to each other. Brennan took the higher trajectory thus pushing it a little towards the sideline

Let’s talk stalled drives.
LSU had 14 drives against against Missouri and Florida
Against Missouri
LSU Punted 5 times, attempted 3 FG, Scored 5 Offensive TDS, and went 1/2 on 4th down.
Against Florida
LSU punted 8 times. Attempted 3 FG. Scored 3 Offensive TDS and didn’t attempt any 4th downs.
The Facts are Max Johnson had plenty of drives stall. The other team has just as many possessions. The difference is The defense showed up Vs Florida and not Missouri.

Adjustments can't be made?
Yeah. Like throwing underneath when the game is out of hand.
quote:
Irrelevant. Jimbo wanted that shutout and only a dumbass would say otherwise.
Relevant. They were playing off and playing zone. Max didn’t complete a pass into tight coverage. He actuall overthrew a wide open Gilbert within the first 5 plays on a deep ball that could have scored and made it a gameZ

You’re literally crying about being downvoted. You emotional bitch. Have another downvote you can pretend you don’t care about even though you clearly care about them.
This is why I win at court. I can Bring actual facts to an argument and not just gut emotions.

Facts are Brennan went o/10 on 3rd down against Mizzou.
Facts are that Finely was not very good against better defenses. Facts are that Johnson went into the Swamp and won that game due in large part to what HE did.
The facts are not on your side. But that's a typical position for you.

So was Johnson.

That is an opinion.
Another FACT the defense caused 9 turnovers in Johnson’s 2 starts.

Max’s dad Brad didn’t have the best arm. He was an athlete (FSU basketball player) , he was smart, managed the game and won games in the NFL.

And? Florida is a significantly better team.

So was Johnson.
Nothing Finley did could equal going into the Swamp and winning.

How? We factually won the game. He was responsible for 3 TDs and kept the offense moving for over 400 yards while the defense gave up over 600.

If Max weighted 245 I would Not have a single arguement why he shouldn’t start.
Max is a good runner, Tebow was a power back with a good enough arm.

Incorrect, he faded it to the boundary. WR breaks 5 yards from a sprint to get under it while the DB would still be on his heels. If the WR can make that grab it’s a nearly indefensible throw.
It’s one throw, but it is an excellent one.

And? Florida is a significantly better team.
Statistically they are not a significantly better defense.
Florida is the 74th scoring defense and gave up 30.8 PPG. We scored 37 (with a defensive TD)
Missouri was the 32.3 PPG and was the 84th best scoring defense in the country. We scored 41.
And when you look at passing defense, Florida was worse. They were the 100th ranked passing defense in the country. They gave up 257.5 yard PPG.
Missouri was 84th in YPP and only gave up 245.8.
When you look at Howe we did vs average we had a below average game vs Florida and an above average game vs Missouri.
Florida had a much better offense than Missouri, and the defense managed to hold them to 32 and force 3 TO.
quote:

Because your assigning credit and the team won the game.
We won 37-34
We had a defensive TD. A 39 yard FG at the end of half to set up entirely by a Fumble. Don’t win without that. A third TO when they were on our own 15.
We held them to 34, 5 points below their average. It was without a doubt our best defensive performance of the season.
And after all that we hit a 57 yard FG to win the game. And that only happens because we got 15 personal foul yards. That’s not a fricking chip shot.
Max played a solid game, but the whole team showed up for once.
But yeah he carried that defense. The defense that gifted us 10 points in a 3 point win.
Oh Again, Florida’s defense SUCKED
Also, you keep saying he kept the offense moving, but we had 8 punts. And a marginal TOP difference.

Over 600 yards on defense
You chose to ignore situational play earlier in the thread , so I expect you to be consistent.

quote:I'm not going to debate arm strength, because it's easily Brennan on that.
Actually Max’s ball went further. At the end of each catch are 2 small cones on the field. Look where receiver catches in relation to those cones.
But these throws aren't equal. Brennan is right-handed, and goes across his body, generating more torque. Johnson is lefthanded, and throws from an open position to do that, using mostly arm.
We'd need to see a bomb down the right sideline from Johnson to get a fair comparison.

No you did.
You ignored a junktime TD vs A&M.
That’s situational play.
You’re ignoring that Points win Football games not yards. And you’re ignoring the 10 points the defense delivered and the redzone turnover that saved another 7. That’s a at least a 13 point swing in a 3 point game.
We also gave up 586 yards of offense to Missouri.

So you didn't ignore 0/10 3rd downs?
