I'll take you insulting me as a compliment. You brought up somalia to be a troll. Trump's tax plan showed with results that it was one of the best we have seen in decades. You are simpleton and probably need help.

Is there a successful country where almost half the citizens don't pay national income tax?

Should I put you down for Russia being the model, as well? Or do you have nothing to contribute other than complaining. There are many many countries in the world. Just pick the one that has the best tax structure.

Is it present-day America? (before Biden increases taxes) If we don't have the best system, then who does?

That doesn't include the fees paid to organized crime.

The biggest organized criminal syndicate in the world right now is China, and the US Government is in second place.

I am trying to ascertain what countries have the best tax structure by which to model ourselves after.

Democrats have some European nations to point at. I'm curious what nations Republicans can point at and say "look at them, they rock."

However, I'm also fully aware that politics is much like religion, where questions themselves can be blasphemous. This holds true for the woke movement as well. It's important to maintain a sense of humor when navigating these waters.

"best" for what?

raising revenue, fairness, centralized governance, decentralized governance, economic growth, limited government, strong safety net government.

Your question relies on the premise that you and i agree on what is best.

We dont.

Just wanted to figure out the angle before I tried to answer

I'm not sure that the tax structure is the point being made by conservatives (not Republican politicians). I think it more has to do with "whats the point of increasing taxes if our government has no fiscal responsibility and already shown they have devised methods to line their own pockets with the money they take from Americans?"

The point being, someone can't answer the above question honestly without the argument for a tax increase falling apart.

Considering our type of federalism, it's not that easy.

Income and corporate taxes are just part of the story.

Tax PCTG of GDP is probably the best way to look at it, and we are in the Switzerland/Australia area.

The only way you could do that would be to cut out all the tax money we send to other countries. If all the money we give to other countries was cut out we would probably could get by with something below 5% on everybody who makes above Mr. Biden's magic number of $400.000. That still would not make the leaches happy because even a 105% tax on anybody making more than they can get off the government tit is still not enough!

You once again show your ignorance by trusting sources, likely the MSM.

Tax rates around the world!

Please educate yourself before asking stupid questions that seem to be a poor attempt to troll.

What statement are you debunking, exactly? Or, are you debunking a question?

I mean, you just gave a link to a wikipedia chart that shows tax rates of some countries and didn't provide any analysis other than to show that questions trigger you.

My guess is that he's taken a stand but lacks the knowledge to defend it. This is an opinion,fact-finding, info gathering mission with a considerable amount of copy&paste involved. If I'm wrong...oh well.
