On NBC's Meet the Press, Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, called the B.1.1.7 variant a "brand-new ballgame" because of how quickly it has spread among children, citing roughly 750 Minnesota schools that have reported the variant in just the last two weeks. Osterholm also suggested the U.S. may need to consider new lockdowns before school lets out this summer, saying vaccination alone won't curb rising cases in the next six to eight weeks and telling Fox News Sunday that "there isn't a country in the world right now that has seen a big increase in this [variant] that is not locking down."

I don’t think people fully grasp the fact that totalitarian dictators on the left will NEVER give up the power their pandemic gave them. They’ll continue to move the goalpost and say “if you do X you might get your life back” but as we’ve seen since the beginning, as soon as the standards are met they’re just replaced with more restrictive hurdles to jump through. They’re never going to give up this power and as soon as the people begin to wake up and push back Fauci’s next big virus will be released and we’ll be right back where we started. There’s only one way to get rid of fascism.

I understand this fully and many others do as well. Many Republican Governors have had enough.
But a new report like this will simply fuel the teachers unions to stay shut down.
