My small hometown had a gun show this morning so I thought it would be a good time to restock on ammo. Cost $5 to get in and I was able to buy:

150 - .44 Spc @ $30 per box of 50
500 - .22 long rifle @ $25 per box of 100
50 - .38 Spc @ $70 for a box of 50
200 - 9mm @ $60 per box of 50

Total for all of it was $525 if my math is right. I bought from different vendors so I didn’t keep a running tally. On the one hand I was happy to just be able to find ammo, especially .44 Special. But holy shite the prices are getting insane.

Elections have consequences. Gas prices also say hi.

True. Thankfully I don’t have to pay for my own gas.

The ammo situation has been going on for years. It lasted throughout the last administration. It seemed to get a little nutty when Hillary was running, and it has never stopped.

We use Fuelman. All I have to do is turn in a monthly mileage report showing business & personal miles. I don’t really pay for the personal miles. Instead I have to pay taxes on personal miles. It’s usually $10-$20 a month.

I make up for that though by using the GetUpside fuel app. I usually have to fill up at lest 4 time a week and the app pays me anywhere from .10-.20 cents per gallon. In a normal month I’ll earn like $40 through the app.

After the 22 ammo shortage a few years ago I just started randomly buying ammo for every gun I own when I saw it on sale. I managed to stockpile a decent amount over several years so I haven't had to buy any during the Covid crap.

Yep. And it was selling like hot cakes. Just being able to find 9mm is next to impossible nowadays.

Nice haul Darth.

I went to look at some pistols the other day at my go to pawn shop and they had a hardly used mini .40 and wanted $550 for. He said I could have it for $500. frick man, that same gun would have been $400 brand new a year ago

Remember this when things start to plane off. It may not seem like it ever will, right now- but it will.

Buying a little at a time will pay off.

I was primarily after ammo so I only glimpsed at the guns. They had just about any version of the AR15, SKS, or AK you could want. Seems like the lowest price I saw on one was like $1,200. One vendor had an old Norenco SKS with folding spike bayonet just like the one I bought for $50 back in the 90s. He didn’t have a price on it and his table was covered up with customers so I never got the chance to ask his price.

Wrong. Politicians saying frick you to the citizens by letting rioters run amok has consequences.

If this is true you need to go buy their entire inventory today. I don’t know where you live but around here you’re lucky if you can even find ammo, especially 9mm.
