I've been hesitant to call him a victim here. The story on his dad was weird. Rando guy emails him and says "things are about to get bad for your son but for some legislation and a nice fee, we can see to it that it goes away" and Gaetz dad immediately meets with him the next day?

That was a red flag to me. If they're extorting you on some trumped up shite, you don't meet with an extortionist just to hear him out.

He said they went directly to the FBI next, then was wired by the FBI when his dad met with the guy.

Dad is apparently a student of Marion Barry’s groundbreaking approach to private citizen sting operations.

Yes you do you want to find out what they are claiming. Innocent or guilty you find out if they are full of shite or not.

You certainly do. There is no scenario in which the right answer is don’t meet with them.

I do not personally care for Gaetz. However, if I received a threatening call regarding my son, of course I would meet.

Of course, in the bushes, Adam 12 would be hiding to make the arrest for the attempted extortion.
