Don't worry, we're here to help.

Next time, your thread title should be some variation of: "Draft Talk - CB Greg Newsome from Northwestern"

Your message could have an opinion like "I think he's pretty good and we should take him in "x" round. What do y'all think?"

Maybe include a link of some sort.

New some appears to be a solid option at 28, will he end up being the best option... idk but he’s a possibility for sure

I like him ... but we need a WR more than a DB though honestly

The team never drafts for need, but are you serious? The current CBs on the roster for the saints are:

Ken Crawley (not 100% certain he is still on the roster, but don't see where he is a FA)
Marshon Lattimore (will be suspended to start the season)
Patrick Robinson
Keith Washington Jr.
P.J. Williams

Pick the 2 that you would like to run with to start the season, also consider the Latt will be suspended regardless of the outcome of his legal matters. Would not surprise me if it's at least 4 games.

Uh no sorry WR is way down the list of needs and corner is at the very top followed by a weak side LB that excels in coverage and a interior DL. I love Newsome and he’d be a solid pick at 28 if Jaycee Horn is off the board (which he will be). There’s also a very likely chance Newsome is gone as well if there is a run on corners so I’ll give you another name who I would take at 28 without a thought. Aaron Robinson from UCF. He’s 6’1” 200 and excels in press man coverage that Dennis Allen loves to play his corners in and Sean as well as Kris Richard both love long, physics corners. He fits that bill perfectly and would be a day 1 starter with Lattimore. This would be a good draft to possibly move back into the top of the 2nd to get an extra pick or two to replenish depth with cheap rookie contracts so we can get out of cap hell.

I don’t know if Latt will be suspended... DB class deeper than WR class (according to Chris Simms)... we say we good at WR every year ... until one WR, a RB, and a QB/WR/TE/HB catching 85% of all passes

I disagree... only having one dynamic WR has comeback to bite us in our arse plenty of times the last couple of seasons

We only have 1 starting CB in pass happy league with Tom Brady in our division and you see WR as a more pressing need than corner? Come on man be real. We have seen fine and time again that Sean can make average WR look good and we have MT13 plus a young and upcoming starting WR in Callaway and Devonte Harris as well. We will get a WR but it won’t be in round 1. Maybe 3rd round. You’ve got to replenish the defense first as it got raped by all the cuts to get us back under the cap.

He will be suspended. The optics are way too bad for the league not to suspend him. Arrested with a stolen gun while participating in gang related activities. That is not an image the league wants their players involved in.

Also, I am not saying WR needs to be overlooked, but the CB position is a much bigger issue when you currently do not have any starter worthy CBs to start the season.

When has Simms been right about anything? He only has a job because his dad is one of the best at what he does.

That being said I wouldn’t mind trading out of the first to pick up an extra 2nd round pick and taking CB Aaron Robinson and then taking Terrace Marshall, Rondale Moore or Kadarius Toney. Any of those guys would be create a problem for defenses lined up with Michael Thomas.

Your not wrong ... of course... but I guess a counter to that argument is the Bucs just won a SB with underwhelming DB play... but outstanding WRs... another dynamic WR opens up the game for AK... just my opinion

Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen

He said Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen weren’t good... not taking up for him just remember him being first on this

He’s a borderline player between late 1st early 2nd so if the other 4 corners are off the board (Horn, Surtain, Farley, Newsome) he would easily be my next choice and I wouldn’t mind them taking him at 28 when he’s a top 40 player. Sure it would be great to trade back to the top of the 2nd and get another 2nd or early 3rd out of the deal but those deals aren’t always there and we can’t go into the year with Patrick Robinson starting at outside corner.

No we don’t could we use another WR? Sure.

But we have Thomas coming back healthy, Callaway, Smith, Harris. And I think Trautman at TE will breakout this year.

You want PJ Williams or Patrick Robinson on the outside full time? I don’t.

Cornerback is definitely a bigger need but saints will go BPA as they should. I like Newsome but if their is a better player at receiver available then that is the direction we should go. Like I would take Marshall over Newsome but Horn over Marshall

The Saints will sign a Vet. at every position they feel is very weak b4 the draft. Then they will sign the BPA in the draft.
