Laptop batteries all start out fine. But most retain theie performance much longer if you don't leave them plugged in all the time.
However, even the best ones will only last 2-3 years. Most are not hard to change yourself. Watch a YouTube video and order a new one - that's my advice.
When the new one is installed, plug it in less often and it will last longer.

You have to balance the ill effects of charge cycles against keeping it fully charged.
Most new(er) laptops have a setting in the power/battery management settings for the battery charge threshold settings for primarily plugged-in laptops.
