John Thompson grew up in Washington close to where Baylor grew up and saw him on the park courts when he’d come home from school or his early nba career and said without a doubt he was the best he ever saw.
He was nicknamed Rabbit and there are pictures of people sitting on top of buildings and numerous people looking out every window overlooking the park just to look down and watch him play. Said sometimes he played in dress shoes and still dominated.

The first full season they had Truck and Pete was when Maravich blew out his knee. They were doing great up until then and appeared to be a lock for the playoffs. Once Maravich was out, the season was done.

He had some absolutely insane stats he put up. Definitely one of the league's greatest to ever do it.

They were in a 9 game winning streak when Pete went down. I remember it well.

All of that.
Rod Hundley said one time if the Jazz ever made the playoffs here, they'd have to put the court in the middle of the Dome due to ticket demand.
