Haven't been watching today, but are these defense witnesses near as bad for the defense as CNN is making them out to be?

I have only watched some of today's testimony and I haven't watched CNN in years but anyone saying these have been bad witnesses for the defense don't recognize what the defense is trying to do.

Its early in the game but the defense witnesses have not provided any evidence that shows Chauvin didn't kill floyd. But It also doesn't show any evidence that Chauvin did kill floyd.

Other than one or two saying he was asleep, kept falling asleep in the car before the cops showed up, there's nothing earth shattering so far. I have to imagine Defense is slow burning this to something down the road.

The nurse that attended to GF at a previous hospital visit said GF told her he had been taking 7-9 pills every 20 minutes and that his Blood Pressure was shockingly high and recommended he be admitted to the hospital.

There have been a lot of caveats the judge is giving for the defense witnesses testimonies.

Wondering where they are going with excited delirium. I've been on a cop shooting jury where excited delirium was what the defense used. Usually associated with removing clothing and foaming at mouth. Maybe the increased strength and lack of pain recognition

The defense doesn't have to prove anything and doesn't have to call any witnesses

The whole first half of the trial is enough reasonable doubt IMO; but, I'm sure the defense will call medical witnesses to show causes of death other than Chauvin

They don't have to, the prosecution has to show that he did.

didn't Floyd's woman say Floyd also foamed at the mouth either during a previous OD or previous arrest?

I think it was substantial what his ex and the bystander said

Ex: “they fricked him up”
Bystander: “no, he fricked up. I told him to get in the car, you can’t win.”

I missed this witness. What happened?

If I remember correctly, she talked about talking to firefighters who were on the scene while Floyd was still on the ground...that video shows firefighters didn't arrive until after Floyd was gone

That not how this works

The removing clothing is just one symptom...you often times don't see that because the excited delirium occurs during the act of resisting.

The excited delirium will be interesting...the Floyd case seems to meet excited delirium symptoms.

From western journal of emergency medicine

quote:

Excited (or agitated) delirium is characterized by agitation, aggression, acute distress and sudden death,

quote:

Regardless of the label used, all accounts describe almost the exact same sequence of events: delirium with agitation (fear, panic, shouting, violence and hyperactivity), sudden cessation of struggle, respiratory arrest and death.

Where are y'all watching? CSPAN2 is what I'd been watching but there's some Senate/House stuff.

Don't have Court TV.

Thanks.
