IMO NYC style pizza is seriously overrated. Rays, Patsy, all of them basically serve greasy cardboard. There is good Neapolitan style here Serafina, Otto (RIP).

Many will disagree and it’s likely because I grew up eating it, but pepperoni from West Main Pizza in Houma is my #1 slice.

West Main Pizza in Houma
I also like Venezia - can get dessert afterwards next door at Brocatos
I found Pizza Delicious to be overrated

Easily the best Pizza in Louisiana is Venizia’s in New Orleans

I have always enjoyed New York Pizza on Magazine Street in uptown New Orleans. I knew the owner way back when they were still in the little shop on the corner of Dufossat.
Tower of Pizza for straight-ahead, classic American pizza parlor pizza and experience.
I love Moe's in Westwego, but their sauce is either love-it-or-hate-it.
Venezia is wonderful old New Orleans.
Family loves Theo's, I'm satisfied with it, but that's about it.
Happy Italian Pizzeria in Harahan. They are really good, a favorite.

For NY style I enjoy NY Pizza and Pasta on Coursey in Baton Rouge. To me it's the closest to NY Style I've had in Louisiana. I recommend it. That's Amore the Metaire location is also good if you want Chicago style.
NY Pizza and Pasta.

Unless you know somebody who has eaten at every single pizza joint in the entire state of Louisiana, this is a retarded question.

Well, I had a friend who took some sort of pizza tour in New York. He told me my pizza was as good as any he had up there. So my answer is:
Learn to make your own pizza and make it how you like it. Takes some practice, but I think anyone can learn if willing to put in the time and effort. A baking steel helps if you are cooking in an indoor oven like I do. I bake at 550 F on a steel. Takes between 4-5 minutes to cook a pizza.

Outside of New York, I don’t think you can truly replicate it. Apparently, it’s the New York water that makes it what it is, but if you are ever in Slidell, Olde Town Pizza makes a solid “New York style” slice. I prefer it to Pizza Delicious.
