Stupid. 1-0 lead happens with 0 outs or 1 out if he hits in two hole. With Morgan in one, how about starting a game with a 2-0 lead?

If you listened to Ben, he just explained the reason, more ABs

It’s not 20 more and if they’re useless ABs then what’s the point? The kid has 5 RBI and 4 are himself. That is sad. fricking sad. He shouldn’t be hitting behind Milazzo. That’s a problem. It may not show itself vs Nicholls and Southern, but it will vs good teams.

Is this even statistically true over the course of 60 games? I don't think it is.

Look at the 2019 stats. Antoine Duplantis had more attempts at the plate in 2019 than Josh Smith who lead off for 52 of 66 games. Smith's starts split per batting order (1-2-3-4-5) were 52-5-1-6-1. Duplantis starts per batting order were 7-10-49-0-0. Duplantis played one more game and had 5 more attempts per my rough math, 305 to 300. Their attempts per game are not statistically different.

I think in 2017 K Rob led off for most of the year and had the most attempts over Freeman who batted 2nd most of the year, by 3 attempts.

There are a lot of factors but I don't think the difference in plate appearances is near the 20 that keeps being thrown around. It's likely much closer to 5 attempts in this scenario.
