Marceaux, Hill, and Beck are dominating hitters thus far

I know the competition hasn't been the greatest, but they are doing what top level SEC pitchers should against lesser competition.
Marceaux
11.0 innings
0.00 ERA
0.36 WHIP
0.108 bat avg against
Hill
10.0 innings
0.00 ERA
0.40 WHIP
0.118 bat avg against
Beck
3.0 innings
0.00 ERA
1.67 WHIP
0.111 bat avg against
Combined
24.0 innings
0.00 ERA
0.63 WHIP
Several other young pitchers have looked very good also.
Let's hope that Labas and Fontenot can be a little more consistent like they are capable of being.
Pitching overall looks to be deep enough to make a run if offense is good enough.

Beck has pitched 3 IP & has had 6 base runners
That’s not good

One of these is not like the others

Beck has done what he does every year, allow runners but not runs

Not surprised Landon Marceaux has the best stats on the staff
He's gone out and done his job for three years while other guys get all the hype.

I agree with the high number of base runners for Beck, but look at the details.
15 batters faced
6 outs on hit balls
4 walks
3 Ks
1 hit
1 hit batter
He has the stuff to get batters out as long as he throws strikes. Clean up the walks and he will be great.

If LSU can make it to a super regional and never have to pitch either "veteran" arm, unless it's a blowout, in Beck or Vietmier, it means our BP has come along nicely.
Neither one of them are big time SEC bullpen guys. Our young arms will have to come along to make our bullpen great, and I believe they have a great chance of doing just that. But if we make it far and are depending on Beck and/or Vietmier to pitch in a high leverage situation, then I don't like our chances.
It just is what it is. Viet has never been that great. He was a strike thrower when we had no other options, so he was "good" for us then. Beck has a great curve, but he walks too many people (and always has) to have him out there when shite is really on the line.
Appreciate both their efforts, but they need to be options 5-6 out of the pen. Not 2-3.

The scary thing is Hill can probably be even better. I don’t think his slider has looked as good as it did last year yet.

The team is batting .303 with 15 homers in 7 games. So far it’s looking good.
