Well, without knowing what he does and where he lives, then I can't answer that.

But if what he does is somewhat specialized and the market he lives in is tough...then you never know.

In Afghanistan a colonel asked me to do something unethical and I refused. I was a major at the time and was sure I would never cross paths with him again. My response was borderline disrespectful.

He later was promoted to major general and I interacted with him multiple times over the balance of my career.

Rummy’s advice is sound.
