Well, that makes it all right then. Whew. So, when they alter their genitals due to severe mental health (political) reasons, then they can reverse that if they change their minds?
And I'm assuming they can't do that if it is for (religious) reasons related to the genitals being evil?
Thank God you cleared that up for me.
I was worried for a second that we're putting a mentally ill person in a position of responsibility for making policy decisions as to how we treat other mentally ill people and this could cause a bunch of unintended consequences.

Interesting how all the "I want the government to stay our of people's business" loses their fricking minds when someone wants to live their only life as another gender, even though that has absolutely no effect on the mind losers in any way.
The issue pertains to the clinical treatment (and potential subsidization thereof) of children as young as 3, as Senator Paul discussed. Nice poorly disguised melt though, much appreciated!

something like 90% of gender dysphoria cases resolve by their late teen years. so even if you assume genital mutilation is a reasonable fix for gender dysphoria it would be unneccesary, and unwanted in 90% of cases after they grew out of their temporary trans phase. the risk-benefit ratio suggests that is an anti-evidence based medicine approach.
Meanwhile this person is pushing for 9 year olds to have medical decision making capacity bypassing parental rights... keep in mind 9 year olds also believe they might get a hogwarts acceptance letter in the mail.
