Can you quote someone here that had said this person can't live their life however they want?
It would seem the issue, and the specific issue as asked by Rand Paul, was this person's beliefs (which can therefore potentially become policy) in regards to the use of hormone blockers and surgery to either prevent puberty or reverse it in minors. This person's refusal, despite being asked twice, to even pretend to answer Paul's question ought to be troubling to everyone.

Not caring about the things other people do that has zero effect on my life is embarrassing I guess.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is facing criticism for his questioning of one of President Biden’s health nominees, Rachel Levine, a former state health official who would be the first openly transgender federal official confirmed by the Senate.
Paul characterized gender-affirming care, including surgical treatments for transgender individuals, as “genital mutilation,” a description not supported by mainstream health care experts.
“It is really critical to me that our nominees be treated with respect and that our questions focus on their qualifications and the work ahead of us, rather than ideological and harmful misrepresentations like those we heard from Senator Paul earlier,” said Sen. "Rand Paul chose devotion to anti-LGBTQ extremist groups over substance and the health of our nation — and does not deserve to hold public office,” said Ruben Gonzales, executive director of the LGBTQ Victory Institute.
“His remarks echo the talking points of the same organizations who said gay men deserved AIDS and that LGBTQ people should be criminalized. He explicitly attacked vulnerable trans youth for his own perceived political gain and it was a disgrace. The left is such fricking scum. Changing the definition of gential mutilation or changing the context does NOT change the fact that it IS STILL gential mutilation.
Yes, I'm sure they can pay some ivy league trained physicians to parrot their stupid destructive talking points, but the word games still dominate their case and not any real world evidence that shows they're right.

Do you have a SINGLE credible study that shows any of the things this person supports lessens rates of suicide?
As senator Rand said in the clip, we have NO long term studies on the damage these things do. NONE.

Your logic breaks down pretty quickly since liberals don't believe abortions are killing babies. That is what you believe and you are applying your beliefs where they don't exist for the purpose of misrepresenting a situation.
