Any thoughts or tips on a small getaway to Boston?

It's a good city for a long weekend trip, you can generally catch what you'll want to see in 3-4 days.

I enjoy 3-4 days there but COVID has things locked down and the winters suck. Go in warmer times. There is some decent food and obviously if you're into museums etc... there is some very good material from when Massholes didn't hate guns and freedom (IE 1776).

Stay near the waterfront. Downtown by the theater district and the Park/square is FULL of homeless people. Cemeteries are great to check out. Freedom trail is good. Take a tour guide if there for a short time. Bay cruise is nice. USS Constitution.
