I go here every Sunday evening and completely eliminate every trace of my online activity from Google:
My Google Activity
If you've never done this, it will show you an amazing history going back to the beginnings of your online life.
Google, of course, doesn't recommend deleting this because they use it "to tailer content to suit your interests and lifestyle".
When you do this, the ads you get are completely random crap because Google loses all ability to target you off of your history. Worth checking out.

Yeah, discuss something totally off the wall that you have not searched for ever with someone with nothing but your cell phone around... Like diabetic shoes...
Then see what kind of pop up ads you start seeing on sites...
No one is listening though...
That seriously happens all the time. It's very eerie. I don't get on facebook often, but the ads relating to my discussion usually are on there.

Did you know that Mr. Scott, the engineer, auditioned with an Irish accent? It's because he is Irish. The director said 'That's good but we can't have an Irish engineer. Irish people are seen as too stupid.'
Scottie: "I can do a Scottish accent."
And so he got the job.

I was telling my wife about a guy I worked with when I was in college. I have not seen the guy in at least 15 years. The next morning he was a LinkedIn suggestion for me to add.

He related in many interviews that he did the audition in a variety of different accents. Perhaps one of them was Irish. Roddenberry said that he thought the best engineers were always Scotsmen, so they used that one.
Commander Scott was not originally envisioned as being a major character. In fact, the character did not even have a name when Doohan auditioned for the role of "chief engineer." The surname "Scott" was picked after his nationality had been decided, and "Montgomery" was selected because it was Doohan's middle name (named for an ancestor).
On the other hand, did you ever notice that they seldom showed Scottie's right hand? Doohan lost the middle finger at Normandy.

Hard to say. Can you move a little to the left?

This is the real reason people feared 5G. The whole "conspiracy loons think it will give you covid" thing was bullshite. They now have enough capacity and speed to monitor every man, woman and child.
Are they watching/listening to everyone? Probably not, but they can watch/listen to anyone they like, especially if your phone hears you say certain phrases and alerts surveillance, causing them to focus on you.
Whatever you believe, the fact is that they have all the tech they need for a real life big brother situation.

That's better. No, I don't trust technology, but I have welcomed it into my life because I enjoy convenience too much.
I know tech is building a profile of me to sell me shiat. At some point, someone will think they are doing a good thing and will have all this listening tech react to words for our "own safety." Verbal altercations, yelling at kids to do chores... CALLING CHILD SERVICES. CALLING POLICE.

We run much of our own software or open source software as we can i.e. database, files, cameras, inventory, etc. Of course, with cellphones, unless one is going to a flip phone... your options are limited.
We keep most of our data on our own servers in our home and backups encrypted remotely.
We assume some risk with phones, and if you have a smart phone... you basically have a listening device.
My pet project is going to get voice assistant working without the big tech companies or internet.

His parents were from Ireland and he had an Irish accent growing up. He got the Scottish accent from his sergeant in the Canadian military stent he did. My version is from an interview he did.

Does not sound Irish to me, but I suppose that is a matter of opinion.
Lemme splain accents to you. I was born Cajun. I had a Cajun accent. I can do a Cajun accent right now easily. Today if you heard me speak in my normal everyday voice you'd say I was Tom Brokaw.
Accents go away according to your surroundings over time. You can always go back. But it's never your natural voice.
