They had a "free" election several years ago and "elected" a democratic leader (after being a military dictatorship for decades). The new leader never really had control of the govt, but she did win the Nobel Peace Prize, and a box of Cracker Jacks.
The military has been slaughtering Rohinjas in the 1000s for a couple of years and forced about half a million of them into Bangladesh. Press, Europe, UN has been pressuring the country Neville Chamberlain style, so the military just removed all pretense and took the govt back over. They just arrested the president for illegally having walkie talkies, and just yesterday with violating covid regulations (I guess they caught her without double masking).
Just another country chini is telling its proxy boys to rattle the sabers and see what chinijoe is gonna do.
And most of the west still calls it Burma, not recognizing the farce of its so called democracy.

It’s def about America but it was also a global concern....as you clearly see....or maybe you don’t. A lot of wool being sold these days.
