I have a relative who is a huge Country star. He’s gone from making roughly 20 million a year to practically nothing.

We have a private family chat on FB messenger and he’s just miserable over all of this. All he wants is to perform and make new music and his hands are tied. He basically spends his days fishing and some studio work. He does have a gig this weekend for an empty sporting event.

I’m fully supportive of a new era of protest songs!

Oh the humanity!

Just kidding...no one who wants to work should be prevented to because of the China virus.

I do wish I could get some fishing in though.

We have a friend who is Blake Shelton's drummer ... I'm sure he's grateful for the time with his family BUT I'm sure he misses "normal" as well.

Clapton has always been a staunch conservative, not to mention a guitar god.

Since this song came out the Left is trying to cancel him lol. A 70 year old man and the only 3 time inductee into the rock n roll HOF
Good luck

lyrics to STAND AND DELIVER:

Stand and deliver
You let them put the fear on you
Stand and deliver
But not a word you heard was true
But if there's nothing you can say
There may be nothing you can do

Do you wanna be a free man
Or do you wanna be a slave?
Do you wanna be a free man
Or do you wanna be a slave?
Do you wanna wear these chains
Until you're lying in the grave?

I don't wanna be a pauper
And I don't wanna be a prince
I don't wanna be a pauper
And I don't wanna be a prince
I just wanna do my job
Playing the blues for friends

Magna Carta, Bill of Rights
The constitution, what's it worth?
You know they're gonna grind us down, ah
Until it really hurts
Is this a sovereign nation
Or just a police state?
You better look out, people
Before it gets too late

You wanna be your own driver
Or keep on flogging a dead horse?
You wanna be your own driver
Or keep on flogging a dead horse?
Do you wanna make it better
Or do you wanna make it worse?

Stand and deliver
You let them put the fear on you
Slow down the river
But not a word of it was true
If there's nothing you can say
There may be nothing you can do

Stand and deliver
Stand and deliver
Dick Turpin wore a mask too

These two put their heart and soul into their music.

Glad they are still around.

The thing is that he has massive overhead expenses. That tour bus, stage, stage hands... doesn’t come cheap. A touring country group is very very expensive to operate. It’s a business like anything else. He busted his arse and took a lot of risks to get where’s he’s at and it all could be lost very soon. There’s no telling if he can just turn it back on and continue where he left off.

Dude do yourself a favor and watch this song from Crossroads Festival 2004, absolutely rips it up
Turns back the clock with some real horsepower

Can you imagine the country songs he will be able to write during this "pandemic"? Should be a lot of good rap songs too. Something about the gov't keeping the people down with the shutdown cain't get no touchdown.
