Yikes. I was wanting a Tundra for my next vehicle and was waiting on the body change.

Not definitive, but I don’t like the way that looks at all.

Why is this the 2023 model and not the 2022 model?

I know they generally put out models mid year or something for the next year... But we just started 21 and you are already talking about 23?

Along those same lines, who is going to buy a '21 or '22 knowing that there will be a total remodel in '23?

As others have mentioned, the current Tundra has the worst interior and gas mileage in the class. People have already been holding on buying one HOPING that they would do a remodel and improve the options and the MPG. NOW, you can bet your a$$ people who are considering a Tundra will wait it out if they can.

Why is it every modern truck has to look like a Tonka or Transformer??? It's like the car companies are saying "HEY MAN IF YOU ARE A DENTIST OR VIOLINIST YOU CAN LOOK SUPER TOUGH IN THIS TRUCK TOO BRO!!!"

I think that's why so many people buy f-250's whether they need them for towing or not. It looks like a real truck.

That’s just the current truck market. It’s insane. I sold an 07 Chevy with 249k in October for 7k.

All pickups except maybe some of the work truck oriented Fords have awesome resale now. Been that way since the recession put a clamp on new truck purchases, which reduced available used truck supplies years later.

Not in a group that wears a mask while driving alone in a car.

You don't know how this works? They offer bigger discounts on outgoing models. Not in the same way as the domestics, but more than on new models.

Me too.

I want a pickup with the brilliant 5.0L V8 Lexus motor. 471 horsepower in the Lexus LC. I figured they could tune it for 420 horsepower in the Tundra to run in regular fuel. Not interested in a turbo V6 in any full sized truck.

I may as well get a 3/4 ton Silverado with the 6.6L gas V8. Simple design. No fuel economy related bullshite in the lifter or camshaft design. No automatic stop/start. Bulletproof 6 speed auto. The problem is that it’s 8’ tall and barely fits in the garage. Way more truck than I need.

I’d legit get rid of my work truck to drive either one of those as a daily driver.

It’s more than likely getting a hybrid option along with the turbo V6. People complain about gas and other aspects about the Tundra and then when Toyota does something about it they still complain.

I’d be interested in looking at the hybrid. Toyota makes the world’s best hybrid vehicles. Not even a close second. A gas powered full sized truck that gets 25 mpg would be awesome.

I wouldn’t trust Ford with that kind of thing. I don’t even like the JLR V6 diesel in the Ford with timing belts and questionable Land Rover/Jaguar reliability.

I don’t know enough about the latest Ram 3.0L diesel. The Ram’s use a very good ZF transmission though. Chrysler outsourcing transmissions to ZF really changed the game for them IMO.

The Chevy with the 3.0L Duramax six cylinder looks pretty awesome. That’s a sweet ride, but they clearly just kept the interior from the previous generation Silverado and added a few new features. Would have preferred that the wet belt for the oil pump be on the front of the engine, but I can live with a 150,000 mile service life for the belt.

....maybe....just maybe its because the driver is about to exchange seats with another tester and they wanted to avoid the new driver being exposed to air borne particulate?

That considers the fact the windows may not be operational.

I also get why some of you hate masks. mouth breathing tends to be more unpleasant in them.
