Your last ever LSU tailgate

Ok ,
Since App fans aren't too familiar with a proper LSU tailgate and where to soak in the best you have to offer, I ask this question.
If this was your last ever LSU tailgate, where would you spend your final saturday before the game? Bars(Pabst Blue Ribbon preferred), restaurants, streets, parking areas?
Thanks, PBR1893
Geaux Tigers and take the Charlotte Hornets with you!!!!!!

Your post doesn't make any sense. Your final tailgate would be spent at your usual tailgate.
Also, probably not a good idea to refer to the last of anything right now. Sort of a serious hurricane barreling towards us.

well you would have to visit the chimes.
but my normal tailgate goes like this.
park close to walkons. and head out to campus. basically go to all my friends tailgates and meet up with other people along the way. go to the game or watch it somewhere close if i did not get a ticket. then end up at walkons to wait for the traffic to die down.
i will probably be doing things different now that i don't live in baton rouge. but that is how i like to do it.

Impossible to answer. Nobody around here could ever imagine their last tailgate. We will be doing this till we die.

Why don't you rephrase as your "only" LSU tailgate, since that is probably most relevent for you.
If I know I was going to die in 8 months or less, it would probably affect my behavior differently than if I was only in town once and looking for a good time.

I would tailgate near campus. After the game either stand outside the Mello Mushroom patio or go to Brew Bauchers and watch the games until traffic dies down. Both places play multiple games.

Yeah. I think that his what he meant by your last tailgate. You know, the one right before you die.
You might be screwed on the PBR. Don't know anyone down here that drinks that piss. Just get to campus early and make the rounds. Plenty to see.

Well if i understand right, you are asking what you should do for the day.
To really soak in the atmosphere, you need to get out early enough to watch the transition.
From people showing up to set up their tailgating sites and doing beer and biscuts for breakfast, to what hapings just befor gametime
If you get there earily enough, park in the agcenter lot (can't miss the place, corenr of south stadium and highland rd) then just walk around. Go see Mikes new habitat, check out the stadium, go see the gift shot in the union, but just walk around.
Just walk around, you should be able to find a number of tailgating areas where people will "tiger Bait ya", but then will offer you food and drinks (just don't ask what you are eating, it's probably better that way). Most peple will be hospitable.

I love the rant

I had a LSU Alum friend who mentioned the motor home parking area. How's that? As for the Mellow Mushroom...we have one in Boone as well. Great food and very laid back! I expect to get some good-fun ribbing and that's ok with me as long as some good cajun food comes along with it!

Go to Touchdown Village, 200 different tailgate groups all trying to outdo their neighbors.

Evvaboddy's gonna have a favorite place.
Don't miss the Parade Ground. Look for The Campanile (that's the clock tower), and it's right across the street. You can cruise the perimeter and get just about anything you want to eat -- all you have to do is smile, say "Boy, that really smells amazing. What is it?"
Be ready to talk football, grin when you're tigerbaited (if it's a drunk frat boy, which is of course redundant) just walk away.
Have a great time.

The fact that you listed PBR probably means you'll be arrested.

stay out of bars, it is not how we do it here, get to campus early, walk around. There is too much to see to begin with, you don't have time to stay in one place too long. Things you should hit, as mentioned earlier; parade grounds, touchdown village, mike's habitat, ag center area, maybe the chimes for an irish car bomb. Other than that just float around all day and enjoy.

Hey! I resemble that remark!
That reminds me of a run-in I had with a University of Michigan police officer last year...but that's another story.
I'm looking forward to this trip...I'm so excited I may need to go to the store and pick up some Depends to wear for the rest of the week!

My recommendation for you - buy an ice chest and put Abita Beer in it. My personal favorite is the Amber but a lot of people like the Purple Haze. Hang out on campus and you'll get lots of great food. LSU's campus is one of the most beautiful in the country and the people are the best you'll ever meet. Damn! I can hardly wait to fly home for this.

Wake up at 6 bloody mary, 3 tylenol, 2 slices of pizza out of the fridge.
6:15 Go to Winn dixie, buy a handle of evan williams green label and a 2 liter of coke.
Swig and switch with said evan williams and coke until I get to the fraternity house.
6:45 Put on the song "chicken heads" by project pat, listen intently.
7:15 Start walking to the circle K to get a 40 of Malt liquor and a case of natty.
Drink said 40 on the way back.
7:45 make pledge hold empty 40 bottle while he sets up the first game of beer pong.
8:00 Dominate game of beer pong
8:05 Help the other team to drink their beer because they didn't even get a chance to shoot.
8:15 Realize I am neglecting my whiskey, begin to swig and switch again, while bitching about how much you hate herbstreit.
10:00 Take 15 minute piss
10:15 Get hungry, believe I can fill the void with beer. Begin shotgunning
10:45 Realize that's not gonna work this time either. Start walking to Roul's to get a mega burger
11:00 Order Mega burger, have Roul sexually harass you.
11:15 Eat burger greedily, avoiding eye contact with anyone you may know as they would probably want to talk to you, slowing the inhalation of the greasy goodness.
11:30 Hit up Lockett Tailgates
12:30 Hit up RV tailgates
1:30 Hit up CEBA tailgates
2:30 Black out, reportedly make out with a random sorority girl.
4:00 Come back to my senses, realize I ahve started sobering up, drink enough whiskey to recover from the sobriety and ride the wave at least through the third quarter of the football game.

You can get PBR at Slinky's, a bar on chimes street right off campus, but I would not recommend it as a place to go on your only trip to Baton Rouge. Better would be to start at the chimes and then walk your way through campus down to the stadium taking part in whatever presents itself.

i am sure you can get PBR at a number of places. but don't go to bars.
as another poster said. bring your own beer, not that beer won't be offered but you don't want to appear like a mooch.
just get to campus and walk around. be friendly and you will have a great time.
