Moving to Mandeville/Covington/Madisonville area. Prefer not to drop the $$$$ on private high school. I know Mandeville High and Fontainbleu High are good. Some decent homes in the Soult (sp?) Area out near the state park.

Per Zillow, the area is served by Lakeshore HS. Anybody got reviews on this school? I've heard Covington High ain't great but not much on Lakeshore.

I graduated Covington High. Some good kids, some frick ups. That statement is true for CHS, MHS, FHS.

It's more about how you are as a parent. Don't raise a frickwad and you're kid will be OK. Raise an entitled douche, and he'll probably be a frick up regardless of your choice in high school

It’s a good school but I would try to get your kids into fountain blue

Yup. Won't be a popular opinion here, I'm afraid.

I went to William Pitcher (basically Covington Jr. High) and then my parents made me go to St. Paul's. I would have been so much more prepared for life if I'd stayed in the public school system. Made some really bad choices as a young adult that kind of tie back to that change.

Mandeville High can eat a bag of dicks. Full of entitled losers.

Mandevile, Fontainbleau and Lakeshore are all fine.

Slidell High is okay.

Stay away from Salmen. IT's basically a West Bank public school on the Northshore.

FFS, any actual answers or experience?

I can post on social media or another message board if I wanted smug wokeness.

And no, If I was concerned with race bullshite, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a major issue at Lakeshore HS.

Lakeshore ain’t MHS or FHS, if that’s what you’re asking.

The home values in Mandeville are definitely influenced by school districts.

Hint:Lakeshore has Lacombe in it’s district.

They have a good but not elite soccer team. That's about all I got. Sorry.

Thanks. This is the kind of feedback I was looking for.

Lakeshore played in either the State Semifinals or Finals 4 years straight. One state Championship in that time. Will likely do the same again this year. Your qualification for elite is very skewed, lol.

Lakeshore is fine. I had the choice of Fountainbleau or Lakeshore for both of my kids. I wouldn’t change my decision. Both are on full ride academic scholarships. All 3 are fine.

Sorry, we’re full. Like, almost Metairie full. It’s a big world out there though. Good luck.

Pubic high schools are all trash with no moral or ethical education.

Invest in your child and send him to st Paul’s.

The objective of private/catholic education is to develop character and integrity
The objective of public education is to destroy character and integrity.

Cheers

Lakeshore is trashy. Mandeville is the best of all the high schools. Fontainebleau is second

Lakeshore is a great public school. Like others have said, it’s more a matter of how you raise your kid. That being said, enjoy Mandeville. It’s a nice area but it has gotten extremely crowded and continues to get more packed every year. So much so, that the appeal of moving there is fading fast for a lot of people
