Good evening gentlemen. I highly recommend this aged and ore blind tasting kit. I've been using it every week.

I enjoyed them all. That proof point is perfect for relaxed, neat sips. HH won this round with EHT second and 4R third. Two of the three are sitting on most store shelves and the EHT might not be too far behind if trends continue.

Evening baws, picked this one up this morning. It’s been too long since I’ve owned a non-standard offering from Makers Mark.

How’s that? I’m assuming it’s a proofed down 10 year Elijah Craig? I have some 8 year proofed down (115 proof) Elijah Craig in my decanter right now. Mine started out as an entirely too hot and sharp 130 proof single barrel. It’s an oak bomb at 115 proof, which is pretty wild for only 8 years.

It’s for sure got the Heaven Hill profile. Feels, like it tries to walk a balance between the big caramel note from some old school ECBP and the spicier side of some of,the newer ECBP releases. Drinks slightly above the proof on the finish. A good example,of a modern bourbon that hits all the notes. Price is a bit prohibitive, wish it was $99.

Has anyone tried the new JT Meleck 118 proof release? Was thinking of picking it up, was just curious what folks thought.

I had their cask strength in January and that was 122. A little hot for what I drink on a nightly basis, but it was really good.
