Looking for a Jefferson’s Ocean review. Worth a try or don’t bother?

Ok y’all, forgive me. I’m not reading through all 3000+ pages of this thread over the three volumes.

But can y’all please recommend some bourbons for me to buy while I’m in Kentucky (if I can find them) that are 1. Good 2. May not be easily found at home (Louisiana)?

Just picked up a bottle of Blue Run Rye…. Other than that, what should I get??

Did Bardstown, Buffalo Trace and Willet distilleries today. Had a blast.

Willet was definitely the highlight of the trip.

Finally snagged me some of this in Lexington last weekend. Good stuff. For a 104 proof it has zero bite.

I just want to say how much I love Basil Hayden’s bourbon. Drinking some on the rocks right now during the Saints game. Feels like forever since I had some.

Went to my first whiskey Wednesday at Hokus last night. Flight of four to start. Nothing really that great. Liked the Russell's Rye more than I thought I would. The Rabbit Hole Dareringer was great on it's own, but very odd when it followed a more conventional bourbon. Didn't like Idle Hands.

A friend bought me a shot of Barrell Dovetail. I enjoyed that a lot.

1PD is a Buffalo trace

Think I can close out the week in 1 hour and walk away. This should help.

Found 2 bottles of high west double rye at Total wine. They are limited release barrel picks for Calandros. No clue why they were at total wine. That normal? Anyway, finished 9 months in peated scotch barrel. Will this be any good?

Just coming here to vent, spec’s in Dallas did a massive release today. People camped overnight in front in anticipation.

The drop included pretty much every allocated bottle the entire local market got and they released it all first come first serve (1 of each) at 10 am today.

I’m sure half of the bottles purchased will either be resold or used as a decoration for someone’s office.

Very unfortunate that having a job limits one’s ability to access some of these products entirely here.
