moved several years ago from alabama. currently holed up (with no hole, ironically) in baton rouge-zachary area. divorced. haven't been on an actual date in quite a while.
haven't used dating apps. what am i looking at here when i do? because i'm just not good at running game apparently at church, work (don't want to dip my pen in the same ink at work), or at gym.
and as serious question as this can be - looking to meet someone in my 30s. how bat shite crazy are women these days? i'm all for sex, but odds of truly settling down eventually from a dating app? are these women today just throwing it out there if one appears to be stable, have a job, not stalkerish and in decent shape?
should i just go into this with the expectation of sex and nothing more? back in my day, it could take months before sex was even on the menu. what is the timeline or "expectancy" these days?

Take 3 days and come to grip with the fact you're going to have to lick a butthole at some point and you'll do fine.

If you're actually looking at someone to have a relationship with and not just something casual, throw some money at a Match.com subscription so you can weed out a lot of the trash.
And for God's sake stay away from OKCupid.

sadly, i don't think your joking. this has been one of my main reasons why i haven't gone this route of dating app.

i like nurses but from what i have read from her, she seems like a good person that is unfortunately dealing with a selfish husband or ex who doesn't want commitment or be vulnerable.

30's is a tough spot man. I'm 30 and all the 30 year olds are either fat, ugly, fat and ugly, hot but have 3 kids, hot have 3 divorces and they are all crazy.

They're all crazy. If you take on a woman they'll give you nothing yet expect everything. We live in truly horrible times.

OKCupid is like the meth lab of dating apps. That's the best I can describe it.
I found (I was in my early 30s using a dating app a few years ago) that doing a subscription app tended to net more serious folks if you're not looking to just hook up. Not that you can't have a bad experience on there, you can. But it just seemed easier to weed out the weirdos.
Tinder tended be geared younger. Bumble was ok. I didn't venture out any further than that.

Just be careful. There are some crazies running loose out there.

Bumble is good/decent in Baton Rouge. Too few people on Hinge and Tinder is only good if you like cashiers and daiquiri stand workers who are looking for an independent man to take care of their 3 kids.

Dating apps suck. Chock full of 4s who want to be treated like a 10.
