Gives me more of a reason to want to do everything we can to get him.... although he would be going to same situation, good offense shitty defense...

Carolina - Watson Trade

Edit: Carolina would be the same situation as Houston, why would I think we had a shitty defense when it was top 5 this year.

You think we have a shitty defense, or do you mean Carolina?

We have players, we can offer volume of picks... not having a guaranteed top 10 pick in a draft will hurt us from being taken overly seriously.

Watson is an awesome player but the amount of draft picks Carolina would have to give up to outbid a team like Miami could be detrimental to them.

J..E..T..S

Watson wants to be the sports darling of NYC. Also has close friends on the Brooklyn NBA roster.

Jets have loads of draft picks to divy up

The trade proposals I've saw for Watson are weird to me. Maybe it's bc I'm a much bigger mlb fan, and the idea behind their trades is surplus value. I see Houston wanting a ton of very valuable picks that would have a lot of surplus value in order to get Watson who you'll have to pay good money to, which obviously takes away some of his surplus value.

I wonder how long it takes nfl GMs to figure out what mlb GMs have.

Any team in the NFL looking to upgrade at QB is going to be very aggressive in trying to land Watson.

Imo Carolina is one of the least likely players to land Watson. The Texans will want a boatload of picks and a pro bow caliber player and maybe even another one. Unless Carolina is giving up McCaffrey and 4 firsts then they aren’t getting him. To be honest that 8th pick might as well be the 28th pick. That’s a high pick but probably not high enough to land a future qb and this years qb class is pretty weak.

You think the Saints had a good offense and a shitty defense this year?

4 first round picks, give them some additional draft picks, and then some players off our roster. Make it happen. We have plenty of talent that can be traded and save us money.

If the Saints don't at least make a serious offer for Watson they are stupid for not trying. He has a little say in where he wants to go. If he doesn't want to play for a shite team he'll tell Texans he's not going there so the trade won't happen. You can't trade a guy to a destination he has no interest in and neither will the other organization want to trade for him. He wants to play for a winner so who better than this organization with an offensive guru like Payton? I think he'd be a good fit with Saints or 49ers.

We'd win a SB within 3 years of this trade I believe. Houston might have to take less than they want for him but still get a boatload of picks/players to compensate. If Saints didn't have the cap problems we have I think we'd seriously make a run for him. They should think about trading guys like Armstead/Jordan who devour our cap and use those picks towards a Watson trade if it's viable. They'd probably need to move cap money around if they did get Watson maybe give him a new contract with the same guaranteed money.
