How to Sell Plasma

quote:

Expect to earn up to $35 for each donation (twice a week max). Donors who have been vaccinated for hepatitis B can earn up to $60 per week.

Assuming you have a M-F job, find a job to work on a saturday or sunday that paid about $6.90/hr after taxes. If you did that one day a week for 52 weeks, you'd have your 2.9k

I'd try to cut costs to save an extra $8 a day (sandwiches instead of going out to eat for lunch, no cokes, no starbucks), instead of getting an extra job.

Thanks for the advice all, I'd never thought of giving plasma. I think I found a place in BR that pays $20 the first time in a week and $30 the second - $50 a week is $2600 a year. That's close enough.

Has anyone here actually given plasma before? Is it as painless as giving blood? How long does it take?

I could also probably get $15 an hour as a tutor, would it a be a better use of my time to do that?

Why would you make less money if you have been vaccinated?

If someone has been vaccinated for Hep B, and their plasma is pumping into someone who hasn't, does that unvaccinated person become vaccinated?

just a guess. Maybe its just for people with extremely compromised immune systems who can't take the chance that the blood has hep B.

I'd get a part-time job as a bartender. Donating blood, they just take the blood, donating plasma they remove the plasma from the blood and put the leftover blood back in you. Not worth it.

Gave plasma for a while a few years back. Painless except for the little pinch when they stick you. takes about 45 minutes and you can also make more money by being fatter for some reason but they take more out of you.

Provided a cheap night at the bar as all i could handle was about 3 beers = shithoused

and smoke a cigarette as soon as you walk out and its tight. I wouldn't recommend this unless you absolutly need the money. Makes you feel kind of cheap and the people in their will make you disgusted.

Maybe because they can get more for the vaccinated blood -- imagine a nurse telling a patient, "Well, you can get guaranteed hepatitis-free blood, but it'll cost you. If you want to roll the dice on unvaccinated blood, I can cut you a deal."

I did this when I was dirt poor in college. I was already working two jobs and couldn't fit a third in and school, so I did it. Did make me feel sleazy but provided about $30 a week that I desperately needed (for beer and drugs of course)

i sold plasma my first couple years in college. I worked 15 hours a week at 6 bucks an hour and then gave plasma twice a week for an extra 60 bucks. Enough for spending money

Tutoring would be better. You could do both. If you want to donate something, You could go to a sperm bank. It would be more fun.

And the plasma needles are fricking BIG.
