G. All of the top future scholars at CLA left and went to BR High, Lee, SJA, and Parkview. Major mass exodus of elite kids.

This. My oldest son started at CLA in 5th grade and graduated from CLA in 2011. My youngest son went there from Pre-K - 8th grade. Three days before school starts in my sons 8th grade year they spring the news about The Church taking over. We liked CLA because it was a quality private school education. It was a Christian school but it was not over the top in my opinion (my kids went to dances not banquets). But The Church Academy was just not for us and my son who was always competing with one other kid as top student in his grade got into Baton Rouge High it was a no brainer to send him there.

I was a student there from 2003 to 2005. It was okay, nothing too special. Played soccer and a little bit of basketball there. And yes, Mrs Devitt was awesome!

Ouch. We beat your soccer team like 12-2 with our starters sitting the entire second half. Sorry about that, bro.

Had 14 or 15 pts at halftime against them in basketball in 2001. 3rd Q I came out and Michael Clayton guarded me the entire 2nd half. Ended up with 18 points total and our team got arse whipped.

Lol. Yeah, we weren't very good my first year. Our only good players were a couple dudes from Honduras. They had to score everything for us. Second year was a little better....it was our first winning season in school history.

Don’t do public school. They’re shaming white kids with their new reading curriculum.

Where are you getting this information? Are you refereeing to the post about the Counsious Kids books that were donated to school libraries?

They had a lot of great athletes: Lefors, Jasmine, Clayton, White, Galloway, and many others. They were one of the only BR private schools trashier and less concerned with academics than Parkview during their existence. If you’re from the New Orleans area they are the equivalent of École

Here’s yet ANOTHER thread where you show your emotional and mental scars from the beating you took at the hands of PBS. I’m guessing you went to st Michael’s when PBS beat y’all by 50 a few years ago. You don’t know shite about parkview. You’re just scorned like a little bitch that never won at anything.

As for your comment about academics, my son, who graduated from PBS, made a 30 on his ACT and is about to graduate from a Patriot League school on the east coast. How’s that for a lack of concern for academics?

If the campus is now just sitting dormant, maybe St George could make it one of the high schools they're gonna need.

Campus is in BR city limits

The downfall of that school was the name change. Michael Clayton was great

You just can't expect a place like CLA or FCA to be like a typical private school and for sure not a public school. Doc Melilli genuinely wanted that place to be a ministry first so naturally that ideology was seen in decision making.

Yes. The biggest pricks on the athletic field were always the Christian schools. But CLA was the worst.

The school only closed a few years ago. Nobody has forgotten about CLA.

I went in late 80's. Got kicked out and went to LHS and they were about a year behind what I was learning at CLA. It wasn't anywhere near the good private schools but much better than the public schools
