Also, at the end of the day, aren't you always playing the other people in the market and not the company itself?

Totally think its 2 plays, my decision to play the silver futures route is that the frickery is going to be presumably less this way. I could request delivery for all of my positions and have a brinks truck distribute wherever I say. People can go out to any bullion dealer and do the same, they then hedge the future and repeat.

I dont think people have the grasp of how fast the price of silver could 10x from here if enough people got hands on physical. It's such a manipulated market from the short side, look at the chart above.

When you buy pslv and slv its backed by oz's. If this gets driven up all miners are going up with it. so I support the AG trade, I just look at what happened yesterday with the brokers etc and not having an easier door out. Bullion premiums are extremely low today so I expect it either is a tell of some downside or its the last chance to get low cost physical for a while...

Remember there are only a few mints and refiners in the world. All of grannies silverware cant get melted fast enough to keep up with demand if people start requesting physical. Covid really affected the mining industry as well. This move above 27 is very bullish but theres going to be some resistance to 30, after 30 the ride to 50 would likely be fast

In your opinion, if everything worked out like you say, what kind of time frame do you think we're looking at for a big 30+ move?

I only have some March 19 dated calls. Would it be prudent to get further out calls while there is a chance?

Should we create a TD.com Money Talk discord?

It's a chat room that allows traditional posting like what you would have here at TD, but it also has voice chat rooms. Someone else could probably do a better job explaining it.

I agree with most of your post, but this.

Physical Bullion premiums are incredibly high right now compared to the past 6 years. Bullion inventories are nearly exhausted for all but the largest dealers, like Apmex and JM Bullion. Consequently, premiums have risen to reflect the shortage.

USA minted silver premiums are about $5 oz .... last January they were $1.29/oz

USA minted gold coins are about $109 premium above spot ... and a year ago they were $29/oz above spot.

Theoretically, you could "take delivery," but it wouldn't be cheap or practical, IMO. A good-for-delivery bar of silver from the Comex is 1,000 troy ounces (68.57 pound) .... pretty hard to liquidate that stuff ... to ship it ... and pretty expensive to secure & insure.

Makes a great doorstop though .....

I'm seeing 9% retail on generic 100oz Silver bars, that is high, normal 3-5%

But when i made that post, I saw 2% premiums. Must have been in a vacuum.....

You are right Premiums have been high since March 2020. If you had physical earlier last year, you could sell for 30 percent over spot and rebuy the future with no market risk.

True .... and last year, the gold-silver ratio (GSR) was over $100:$1 .... and today it is at $69:$1 ....

so another play would be to swap silver for gold (playing the GSR trend) ... and then let the gold ride the next wave upward. Good method to buy into a position on physical.

A good AH close. The initial run held to the end of the week. I'm liking what I see.

Let's keep this train rolling.

Don’t mean to ruin this part with such a novice question but can I just create an E*TRADE account and purchase AG?

Even though it’s up from when this started, would it be worth getting in now?

Just created a Robinhood account. Maybe it would be better to use that one

E*TRADE has no restrictions on trading of AG, SLV, or PSLV unlike robinhood. Sign up ASAP and transfer your money, I think it takes 2 days before your first deposit is usable for trades due to account verification.

Yes you can.

If its "too late" then everyone here will probably lose money. It may just be the beginning though.

Only put in what you're willing to lose and hop aboard the ship.

Agreed, the silver run has just started and it’s definitely not too late IMO. Silver prices are up 10% from 48 hours ago, if things go according to plan then it’ll just be a blip on the radar of where this thing can go. If we push silver past 30-35 it is going to get wild.
