Your inability to see your own flaws is likely a large contributor to the type of homeowner they don't want to work for.
Contractors aren't hurting for business right now. Why take the job that will be a PITA when they can fill up on reasonable customers?

There are more jobs out there than reputable/competent contractors. Especially with hurricane work happening across South LA.
They chase the bigger jobs. They don't have time for the smaller ones. It's an issue no doubt.
