Will you be participating in Yardi Gras?

Apparently people are decorating their yards for Mardi Gras since the can't parade. I think I'll pass. LINK
quote:
Nicole Marie, owner and operator of Facebook group Da Buzz, is holding a yard decorating competition called “Yardi Gras,” after seeing similar competitions being held in New Orleans on social media.
Mardi Gras krewes there have taken to decorating their houses to resemble parade floats, something Marie wants to see here.
"It’d be a great idea to develop something on Da Buzz and call it Yardi Gras,” Marie said. “I started having businesses call me and message me wanting to donate for first place and second and third prizes, and it just took off from there.”

My mom did.
She’s mid 60’s and lives alone so whatever gives her something to look forward to I guess.

I’m putting a tandem float in my yard. It’s a line of defense that is necessary during these times. Enter and get rolled over.

Harmless fun. May eventually replace the real thing - no traffic hassle, no tourists, no parking worries, obnoxious people minimized, less trash, customized plastic Mardi Gras.

You need a step brother? I have a PS5 already, so it would be purely sex and love.

I’m game esp since a certain sect of society doesn’t believe in science or masks. Much safer not only for our current situation but overall from many issues. Definitely an idea for the future and can still be enjoyable.
Already coordinated with our neighbors and everyone on the street is game. Will be decorating yards this week staying socially distant of course. One neighbor made everyone Mardi Gras themed masks.
Overall the kids won’t notice the difference and it’ll be a lot of fun. It’s all about the kids anyways, right? When I was a kid some towns still had white and black parades. Do people really think we should stop progressing?

It was a pleasure giving this the first downvote. My only regret is that I have but only one to give.

I was thinking that. No one else seems to agree, but look at the way our manner of living has ratcheted in the wrong direction since 2000 and ask yourself if we would have found that plausible back then.
The ratcheting will continue until the shooting starts in earnest... or, to put it in OT language, "in Ernest."

Guess that means putting an 18 wheeler in your hard and blowing the air horn 24/7 for Kenner Folks

frick no. I'm a guy who wouldn't walk a block to see any Mardi Gras parade, so decorating my house like a damn float is out of the question.

Putting a mannequin under a back set of wheels?

I guess it’s technically not incest if it’s your step-brother

I will put up my Mardi Gras flag like I do every year.
If people want to decorate, more power to them. I like seeing it.

I finally clicked on the link ...
My yard looks like that all year - I love to remind my neighbors that I’m from New Orleans
