Yea I know tracers.
But what was in the movie looked more like lasers than tracers.
You had red lasers coming from the US and green lasers coming from Germany. It was like Star Wars. Felt they should have toned it down a little.

Audie Murphy played himself in the very good “To Hell And Back” (circa 1957). I must have seen the movie about 20 times and have it on DVD.
Audie was pretty much a fricked-up dude personally after WWII and with understandable PTSD but still held down a good life and credible career in Western movies.
Was addicted to gambling and drinking and slept with a .45 under his pillow till his death. He died in his early 40s in a small plane crash.
Was from northeast Texas and a destitute family which he had to lead.
A rare breed.

Can confirm personally that outgoing American tracers are red and that incoming NVA/Chi-Com tracers are greenish-white.

One of the worst, most-unrealistic and silliest WWII films ever made.

You must have not watched Hacksaw Ridge.

I don’t hate Hacksaw Ridge, but I didn’t understand the amount of critical praise it got (84% RT, 7.3/10 on IMDB, Best Picture/Director/Actor noms). It’s a really corny movie. Sometimes corny can be entertaining, but HR takes it to a HIGH level.

I agree. I am sure the true story of Hacksaw Ridge would be a greatly entertaining watch if they could just stick to the story but of course Hollywood has done this forever. . I just do not know why filmmakers feel the need to over sensationalize every little thing To a point it just brings the movie down. HR is at best an average WW2 movie and have no clue why it gets high praise.
