The little dude who adopted us a while back has this diagnosis and I have researched but maybe someone has advice or suggestions.

My neighbor has one with cat aids. It looks and acts like a normal cat to me.

They usually have a shortened lifespan. If you have other cats, you’d need to get rid of them.

my neighbor’s cat has cat AIDS and they are real sensitive about anyone calling it “cat AIDS”. That’s about all I got.

We don't have other cats but he was an indoor/outdoor cat. Now he is an indoor cat only.

And he has is not just FIV+ he is starting to have symptoms. I read about the shortened life expectancy.

I call it cat aids (because he is symptomatic so it is accurate) because who knows what FIV is.

If he's strictly an indoor cat and you keep on top of any issues and make sure he gets his annual checkups, he can live more or less a full and happy life.

I think the main thing is to keep the cat away from other cats as it can infect them, if this is the thing I am thinking of.

If you have multiple cats and one has aids, why would you get rid of the healthy cats? Why wouldn’t you get rid of the one infested with the HIV?
