The tower in the back ground was part of the famous Cone and Kimball Building. The 98 year old building was destroyed in a fire in 1984. A replica of the tower was built in 2005.

1950's "Flying Cars" ride - the cars went around in a loop but so did the big cylinder.

The Santa Fe (ATSF) Blue Goose.

That railroad had only one streamlined steam locomotive and it pulled a passenger train between Chicago and Tulsa
(daily).
It had 84 inch diameter driving wheels and would routinely travel at 100 mph.

The crews called it the ' Mae West'.

Six Flags "Spindle Top," licensed from the German inventor of the Rotor Ride, was decommissioned in 1989.

As a kid it was a thrill to see the bottom drop out under you.

Fun memories.
