I know nothing but it looked like Wilkinson beat him out and he couldn’t deal with it.

He must not be fully healthy, because he was pretty good before he was hurt

Hyatt has looked decent since
What I find funny about Hyatt is that Wade us always touted his shooting ability and he’s been pretty good in every facet EXCEPT shooting.

Manning wanted to be a scorer but there is only one basketball and we already had four scorers starting. Some players can reconcile themselves to being backup spot players and others can't. They all spend thousands of hours developing their talent with the goal of getting in the NBA and it is tough when they see those dreams slipping away.

Wade said in an interview I believe after Ole Miss something along the lines “amazing what happens when you get rid of a team cancer” I sure did not expect Manning was a malcontent but I guess he was
First time I’m hearing this so I guess that makes more sense. I would’ve never guessed he was a locker room problem based on his chill on-court demeanor.

Yeah we’ve beaten two average SEC teams.
I’ll grant you that statement on Ole Miss; but if you think that about Arkansas, then you just either aren’t paying attention or don’t know what you’re talking about.
While they may not be elite, Arkansas is a well coached team and came into that game as one of the best offensive teams in the country, not just the SEC. There were a lot of commentators saying Arkansas should have been ranked in the top 25. Hell, even Stanford Steve said that right before the start of the game the other night.
But even more so, it is aggravating when fans simply base their opinion on a team solely off who they’ve beaten without taking into account the performance of the team and how they went about beating those teams. If you can’t see that LSU’s last two performances were some of their best of the year, then you need to pay better attention.

I agree with you; but Wade has clarified this statement before. He said that his past statements were based on what he sees in practice, where Hyatt shoots the cover off the ball; but for some reason, Hyatt just isn’t translating it to the games and that he believes it’s from just a lack of confidence.

You’re making a lot of assumptions there. There’s no need to be so defensive. Arkansas looked very average to me last night. Missed a ton of open threes. I won’t pretend to have watched their games prior so maybe they just had an off night.
My opinion of LSU doesn’t hinge only on who they have beaten. I watch how they play each night compared to other top 25 teams in the country. We tend to be less disciplined and worse defensively than most of those other teams but we have a lot of talent that masks those deficiencies. I’m really hoping to see continued improvement defensively like we showed against Ole Miss and in the first half against Arky.
My original point was that losing a good defender and upperclassman is typically a big loss if you want to make noise in March. That should be the standard now for Wade, would you agree? That was before I heard about Wade’s comments insinuating Manning was a locker room cancer so I don’t think it’s as much of a loss now.

I went to both USA and LSU so part of me is happy about this and the other part is sad

I noticed that too. He's starting to remind me of Bernard Woodside who was a starter on the '87 Elite 8 team. Woodside started out as a meh 6'6" wing who didn't do anything particularly well. He ended being a fundamentally sound team player who was an excellent defender and could score every once in awhile. If Hyatt turns into that, which it looks like he is doing, he'll be valuable to us and replace what we thought we were getting from Manning.

What’s funny is Hyatt finally started hitting a few shots once he got confident from defending and rebounding. Playing hard helps you in all aspects.

LSU to south Alabama.
Yea definitely some underlying issues

Woodside was about as good a defender who ever wore the uniform. He and Ollie Brown were both lock down defenders.
It's why we made the elite 8 with only two real offensive threats - Nikita Wilson and the streaky Anthony Wilson.
