Just rent and knock it out, it should be early enough to find one available - look at Home Depot and rental places.

I got the Stihl Kombi system. You can get a tiller attachment for it.

Any of y’all have problems with white mold spores while sprouting?

I bought a champion 4 blade front tine tiller before Christmas when they were $150 off at Tractor Supply. Shipped it to my house. All in it was $350. For breaking virgin ground I thought it did very well. We have really sandy soil though.
I plan to use it for some deer food plots also.

I’ve had it before. Ultimately it didn’t cause any problems with the seedlings. I think increasing air circulation with a small fan helped fix the problem. Or maybe that was coincidence.
Last year I had a problem with algae forming on top of the soil. I would let them completely dry out before watering again, but it didn’t seem to help. Once again, it didn’t seem to cause any problems with the seedlings.

I sprinkle ground cinnamon powder all over right after I put the seeds in. It takes care of any mold or flies usually.

I noticed where one bean sprout turned brown then died where the spores seemed to touch it. The others haven’t been affected.

So I put in three types of radish seeds and they're going crazy.
I put in some carrot seeds and big fat nuthin right now. They're in basically topsoil from a bag (the basic kind, black with sand and organic matter). Dusted them with about 1/8 to 1/4" soil. Soil was moist when sewn. So what's up?

How long has it been? Carrots typically take a while to germinate. Even longer in colder weather.

I wet with a watering can then lay boards on top to ensure they stay moist, check every few days.

Two Sundays back. Week and a half basically.

Give em a little more time and keep the soil moist like eng08 said. I planted seeds in the heat of September and some sprouted in a few days, while some were still sprouting up to 3 weeks later.

While we are recommending things lol, what do y’all find is the best tomatoes to grow in south La? I will certainly try beefmaster this year as mentioned earlier, but I seem to be hit or miss on my tomatoes in the past. I have done better boy and creole in the past and better boy are certainly the most consistent thus far (hopefully didn’t jinx myself)

Celebrity has always been a good producer for me. Bella Rosa did very well as well.
