Raids the home of former House Speaker in Tennessee, Glen Casada. Also, several other REPUBLICAN offices of state house and senate members being raided as well. Don’t dare be a Republican these days.

At least 10 agents from the FBI entered the Cordell Hull legislative office building just before 8 a.m., fanning out to multiple offices carrying empty boxes with them.
According to two people familiar with the investigation, earlier in the morning, the FBI searched the homes of former House Speaker Glen Casada, R-Franklin, Rep. Robin Smith, R-Hixson, and Rep. Todd Warner, R-Chapel Hill.
Agents also searched the homes of a current and former staff member.
Warner was just elected to the legislature, beating former Rep. Rick Tillis in an August Republican primary.
House Speaker Cameron Sexton's office did not immediately return a request for comment Friday morning about the FBI activity, though a receptionist in his office said Sexton would be speaking to the matter later.
A spokesperson for the FBI referred comments to the office of Don Cochran, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee.
David Boling, spokesman for Cochran, said he could not yet comment on the matter, other than to acknowledge agents' presence at the building.
Neither Casada nor Smith immediately returned requests for comment.
Calfee said he wasn't aware that agents were in his office.
"I didn't have a clue," Calfee said. "I hadn't heard."

No but a buddy of mine who unfortunately for him works in TV news says they were tipped off around 6 am that “something was going down”.

News Channel 5 in Nashville was given the heads up
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — FBI agents raided the homes of former Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada and other Republican allies early Friday morning as part of an unspecified corruption probe.
Agents were also seen entering the Cordell Hull Building in downtown Nashville where legislative offices are located. An FBI agent was spotted standing guard outside Casada's office.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office confirmed the FBI's presence and involvement in on-going searches, but would not elaborate on the focus of the investigation.
NewsChannel 5 spotted two FBI agents entering Casada's condo in Franklin at 7 a.m.
Casada, who resigned as House speaker in August 2019 following a NewsChannel 5 investigation and was re-elected to the state House in November 2020, greeted agents in his bathrobe.
About an hour later, a search team entered the residences with boxes and photographic equipment.
A knowledgeable source tells NewsChannel 5 Investigates that simultaneous search warrants were being executed at the residences of two Casada aides and two Republican members of the legislature.
Gov. Bill Lee was asked about the probe during his scheduled media availability on Friday morning and told reporters that he was “aware” of the situation.

NEW: I just talked to Smith at the bottom of her driveway on her way to a relative’s house. She says she doesn’t even know what’s happening and gestured toward an empty phone case when I asked about following up.

I have reason to believe that the FBI is on the case of a former, high-ranking Republican legislator in Missouri. And for good reason.

Actually sounding like Governor Bill Lee maybe caught up in this scandal as reports are coming out that this is tied to Bill Lee and his school voucher plan.
"Multiple media outlets have reported in recent years that the FBI was investigating the process by which Casada pushed through Gov. Bill Lee’s education savings account bill. During a frantic 2019 floor session, Casada held a vote on the bill open for more than half an hour as he cajoled more members to support it. Members from both parties later said Casada offered them enticements to vote for the plan, which passed by a single vote but has since been declared unconstitutional in ongoing litigation."
