Why are people excited about the abundance of CBS games?

Id rather listen to the games on the radio than have to watch them on CBS. They destroy the momentum of the game. They take the crowd out of it, which is a BIG DEAL in TS.
I was at the Arky game, it seemed like the frickin red shirt official was on the field for longer than the players.

Exposure man, die hard LSU fans aren't the only ones watching LSU games on national TV

This bs about TS not being loud during the day- GA 03 was loud as ever. If the game is tight, fans are in it. Stop whining about NATIONAL coverage and enjoy the great run

verne and mushberg suck a fat one. verne has gotten to the point where is just too old to do it. he mispronounces names more often then he says them correctly, and all mushberg does is state the obvious. CBS needs to grow a pair of nuts, fire these guys and hire some fresh blood out of college that deserves the job, and actually qualifies.

Every top team deals with TV timeouts at home and on the road so it really doesnt hurt us in the long run when you consider it's even for everyone.

Yea, and what a novel idea, let's not televise any LSU home games. That'll be sure to drive in the recruits.

I'm not excited about all the CBS games, but not b/c I have a problem w/ CBS. I'd just much rather have those Bama and Georgia games on ESPN @ 6:45.

Yeah, those guys that show half our games on national t.v. and just agreed to an unprecedented 15 year extension to show our conference's games and give it billions of dollars are real bastards. frick, I wish a lot of LSU fans would just fricking die.

And they're during the day!! What ever happened to "Saturday Night in Death Valley"?? Both GA and AL day games?? Sacrilege!

I'm officially too lazy to respond "originally", so this is a re-post of my comments on the same topic yesterday

guys, consider laying off over-the-top CBS criticism!! Look, I know Verne and Gary have their flaws, really, I do, and I know the commercials are many and looooong.. but look at the alternative....

.... primetime games announced by Brent Musberger. He is simply the worst announcer since Biblical times. I'd honestly rather listen to my annoying Aggie cube-mate sing something like Rocky Top for four hours!

Also, give CBS some love... they sure love LSU and the SEC. It is a FACT that the only nationwide 'broadcast television' college game, week-in and week-out, occurs on CBS. Well over half of ABC's telecasts, both night and day, are regional.

By the way, I hope SEC coaches tell the recruits this... if you want to be on TV in front of the whole country, come to the SEC! And if you want to be seen the most, come to LSU!

So, after SEVEN NATIONWIDE TV appearances for LSU on CBS in 2007, be glad that they love us!!

And be thankful that they finally experienced a night game in Tiger Stadium and they loved it.

Yep, we'd be better off with millions of dollars of lost revenue, little national exposure, and recruits going elsewhere to play on tv.

Yep, great idea.

Really!?!
It's all about the money and exposure. LSU can't have too much of either one. LSU is in primetime now due to past success. No way should we pass on CBS games. :

I am not. Much rather ESPN, because that would mean they are at night in TS.

You hit the nail on the head. I was there too and it was the longest game I've ever been to in Tiger Stadium (not to say I don't consider every moment in Tiger Stadium a blessing). Taking nothing from Arkansas but I think we would have won that game if not for all the TV timeouts and officiating. The TD pass to Hester that was called back is one of the worst call's ever.

Then, why turn on the TV, just turn on the radio. What's the big deal?

yep, it really sucks to be able to watch LSU on TV 8 to 10 times each year

I miss the days when we had that one game a year on

I'd rather watch LSU at 11 am on TV than not at all

If you cant get enough to drink by 2:30 kickoff, start earlier
