I hate to blame a referee for a loss. But watching LSU vs Florida shows they can impact a game. I’ve never seen so many quick whistles on fouls. With our lack for size if we have a ref crew who calls fouls so easily and doesn’t let the guys play we won’t stand a chance. They also blew a couple jump balls at the end by being so quick to call a foul.

It was bad the final two minutes of the game (particularly the final minute).

The matter of fact is that we left so many points out there the first half, played lackluster D until the final 2 minutes, and have no one to blame but ourselves. We needed good refs to have a shot at the end, not that the refs stole it.

Maybe if Wade can figure out how to get intensity on D the full 40 and keep Days from committing bad fouls we would be talking about a different result.

Refs were calling touch fouls on both teams it seemed, but LSU lost due to lack of hustle rebounding and not denying the big white boy the ball. Also, Days and Manning producing almost nothing was the biggest issue as they can elevate LSU to a great team when they are on. Days only had 2 points and was in foul trouble (though a few of his fouls were phantom fouls as usual).

LSU lost the game because of the recurring theme from the last two seasons. Start fast, come out after half time, and give the game away with a completely different level of effort from the first half.

It’s basketball, refs always always always determine the outcome
