Love 2 but 1 has something special that I like as well. Please do not say 3, if so,just down vote and move on.

2 answered a lot of questions, but I feel the same about the first.

i’m going 1.

the book “The Family Corleone” is set 10 years before 1 and would make an excellent movie if done right.

1 is a complete story arc in itself

2 depends on 1

For all his sharp suits and Ivy League education, Michael was just another greaseball like the rest of them.

Godfather III was a better movie than people give it credit for.

Watch the combined version that was released a few years back. It includes a lot of cut scenes and it answers some questions the casual viewer maybe missed. Its my favorite, but I'm not a purist.

I know I'm not alone when I say Godfather Brando was a movie classic but Godfather De Niro was just kind of .... I couldn't get into it, sorry.

I think it's the way Godfather ends with the door shutting. Don Corleone is dead, Michael is ascendent...it just feels complete. I understand the technical skill put into 2, but I just can't finish it.

My stepfather had a version that went in chronological order, i.e., there were no flashbacks and it started with the flashback scenes from Godfather II. Having already seen both I and Ii several times, it was interesting to see it in this format.
