Best Saints starting QB 97-99

These were the years I first became a regular watcher of the Saints as a lad (bless my heart). Certainly a motley group.

I remember Wuerffel getting hit so hard in the dome his helmet got turned around.

Apparently wore #9 for a bit in NOLA, I only remembered him wearing #12 as a Saint.

I'd go with Kerry Collins. Delhomme, unfortunately, didn't get much of a chance with the Saints as he just a backup the whole time he was here.

Delhomme ended up being the best but not while he was with the Saints.

I think in 1997 and 1998 if I remember right our defenses really weren't that bad but just hardly anything on offense it was because of the quarterbacks.
1999 was a disaster after the season opening win over carolina. it was Ricky Williams's debut and the Panthers fumbled the opening kickoff in the Saints ran it back for a score and you thought man this could be a pretty cool season but it totally wasn't 3 and 13 and that was the year that the browns score on that f****** hail Mary.
Tolliver was okay at running the 2 minute offense but that was about all he was okay at.
I guess I'll go with Jake even though he really only had that Cameo against the cowboys.
Kerry Collins had a good arm but he only had a couple of coffee and then left. Or was it several bottles of Irish whiskey I don't remember?

My first ever Saints jersey was Kerry Collins, so I'll say him.

as a Saints specifically, none of them had a good career here at all.
Collins was a total drunk his one year here. Then he cleaned up and found Jesus after he left and went on to be a solid QB.

Maybe one of the Billy Joes?
Hobert - 157 of 313 (50.2%) for 2031 yards with 13 TDs and 14 INTs
Tolliver - 249 of 467 (53.3%) for 3343 yards with 15 TDs and 20 INTs
Delhomme looks like a candidate but if he played more, I think he would have looked worse.

Collins was the best of that group. Too bad he hated it here and played like it. But he was talented. Collins had 4 TDs and 10 Ints for us in 98. Yikes!
In 97, Shuler had 2 TDs and 14 Ints and Nussmeier had 0 TDs and 3 Ints.
That makes Tolliver’s 1999 7 TD and 16 Int season look not as bad.
From 97-99, we had 48 TDs and 82 Ints. (And that’s with Mario Bates and Lamar Smith each throwing a TD pass).
