$2500 to build/buy gaming desktop

What are the best options. It's for my son's 16th birthday.
He plays apex/fortnite/call of duty black ops.
Thanks guys.
Edit: since some people feel like my money spent on my son is their problem, let me address it.
He is 15 years old, has been the pianist at our church since he was 12, he is paid by the church for his work and his practice. He bought his own vehicle with his own money and therefore I feel like spending that small amount I'm still way ahead.
He would like to game at 4k but I doubt our internet is capable of doing that right now. We're supposed to be getting fiber within the next year.
He has a gaming monitor now but he is into editing quite a bit so multiple monitors would be a plus.
He has a headset but will need a keyboard, he has a gaming mouse.
He plays apex/fortnite/call of duty black ops.
Thanks guys.

Can easily build something for $1500 that will handle those games.
Here is a build for $2000 tho

You can get an Alienware with a 3080 for 2k. No need to spend 2500

You likely can't build right now with gpus that are worth it. Might need to look into pre-built.

That’s exactly what I just did

$2,100 is about what it costs to build a no-compromises, super high end system. You can comfortably get up to $2,500 if you want to start spending money purely on aesthetics, though.
Not exactly something I would do for a 16 year old, but still

Let him build it so he can learn how it works and be able to upgrade later
Get him a 3080, Ryzen 3 Cpu, Asus X570 mobo, SSD, etc
If he wants to game in 4K at high frames, the monitor will cost you 800 alone. If he wants to do 1440p, you can easily stay at 2k

Just for the sake of consolidating, this was the "if you really want to spend $2,500..." build I posted on tech:

You can’t find a 3080 for retail price so it’s moot. Only way to get one without paying double is to do prebuilt. Just how it is right now

So, it depends on how much time you're willing to spend. It's possible; it's just a pain in the arse. And considering he's not looking to build until February, it's even more likely.

$2500? Gonna turn that child into a spoiled arse hat. Odds are strong he has an Apex potty mouth.

I built mine for Apex/Destiny/AssCreed for $3000
Ryzen 9 3950
2080ti
2tb nvme drives
24gb 16cl 3600 ram
Have since upgraded to a 3080 FTW3 but that build ran apex and destiny at 144fps average with 120 min frames

You don't really need an X570 motherboard just for gaming. B550 pretty much satisfies 95% of all end users. I have a B550 ITX board in my system.
This is my ITX build. I bought a Ryzen 5 3600 when I built this, but I was able to snag a Ryzen 5 5600x:

He didn't ask for a build to run those games; he asked for a build in that budget. In fact, my response on Tech started with: "Honestly, this build is overkill as frick for what he needs, but if you give me a $2,500 budget for just the tower...

I got ya
$2500 means nothing though without a resolution in mind. Does he want 1080p, 1440p, or 4k?
(I can't imagine spending $2500 on a 1080p gaming pc, but ya never know

Shitttt at $2500 he better up his FPS game choice to one that can actually utilize what you’re giving him.
Get him into escape from tarkov.
