Gumbo and fried catfish for Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is usually just snacks. Sausage balls, chips and dip, etc. Trying to keep it a little easier this year.

I know that I've added another side to whatever else we're having Christmas Day.

Check out this fresh head of cauliflower I picked up today. I was running hopefully the last of the before Christmas errands and saw a guy selling fresh produce on the side of the road in Laplace on Airlne right by the Home Depot. I couldn't pass up getting one of these! This one measures 12" across. Gonna be a good side Christmas Day!

Can't beat locally grown!!!

I was planning on smoking a turkey Christmas Day but I forgot to take the turkey out of the freezer. I know it won’t thaw in time so I’m not even gonna it. I’ll cook some ribs instead.

Any of y'all Italians do fig cookies for Christmas? My wife's family is italian and they go big with fig cookies for Christmas. We're talking hundreds. Maybe thousands. It was all new for my WASP self.

ETA: I guess they're technically Sicilian, but it's all the same to me. Don't tell my wife that.
